  1. Then even less reason for him to have it. It's big and unwieldy and just causes a logistical hassle which results in the shortchanging of probably the best "set" of Muse songs you could come up with based on a overarching trait.
  2. Matt doesn't need a grand. His style of piano play live is nowhere even within the same tectonic plate as the kind of delicate, precise playing in which a grand piano actually starts to make a difference.
  3. The riff/melody of Introducing Palace Players never fails to astonish. Especially the way it turns from the offbeat syncopated melody to the rolling, fluent and breathtaking melody by way of bass drop.

And no words can describe how amazing the first minute or so of Sometimes Life Isn't Easy is.

  4. I should qualify that I'm really a fan of No More Stories. I've never been convinced by Glass-Handed Kites, it's just not my style. No More Stories is sublime though

  5. Whatever happens two piano songs is simply not acceptable. FFS it's a defining feature of the band. We've gone from little piano "jams" with a little snippet of a prelude in amongst 3, 4 piano songs to USoE and Feeling Good. Hello? How many of your best songs are you asphyxiating there? Four piano songs = perfect IMO.
  6. I agree that the album's slower songs, such as Blackout and RBS, are its highlights. And I agree that the album's flow is more than a little dodgy. Blackout->B&H does make sense, but SS->FAWY->Hysteria does not. Even worse (because the songs are lower-quality) is TSP->Endlessly->TOADA. RBS just feels left out on its own.
  7. Personally I have FAWY near the top of Absolution. IMO [Endlessly]'s sandwhiched in between two tracks which are IMO considerably weaker (TSP, Atheist) than the norm on Absolution. IMO, ofc.
  8. Endlessly gets a bit of a raw deal. Everyone puts it near the bottom of Absolution and rightly so, but one can't help but think that's a little unjust given it is a very good song.
  9. Massive agree to CoD. Realised recently just how good the Dead Star riff is. Haven't really changed my opinion on the song itself but I get the reaction now. The main rediscovery has to be Falling Down, massively. Far from their best work and a long way from flawless but it's such good, simple, quality unpretentious song-writing and that needs to be cherished dearly.
  10. So did I, but now I'm not so sure. City of Delusion, Take a Bow - both killer, killer songs (especially the first) but don't know about underrated. Undisclosed Desires - possibly yes but it deserves some of what it gets (and doesn't deserve some of it as well) Screenager - YES
  11. Posting on a VERY left-field visitor message box

  12. no but in all seriousness i haven't been around that much (i'm going steadily insaaaaaaaaaaane) so yeah i'm behind the times wrt everything
