  1. Really good interview. Regarding future shows, I understand their reasons for not wanting to just rely on 'a big screen showing spaceships flying around' but at the same time I think all the theatrics (like with what we saw T2L stadium tour) have a tendency to detract from the music. Sounds like they're wanting to go all in this time though...I hope they can find the right balance.
  2. I think it's usually around 5pm U.K time? Really looking forward to hearing this.
  3. I always thought Invincible and S4A would have been perfect for the B-stage in 2013, at least Shepherd's Bush showed the latter isn't completely forgotten. I'd be well up for Exo-Politics and MK Ultra, think they'd fit the Simulation Theiry theme nicely. I'd happily have Follow Me back as well but understand that's a challenging one for Matt. Edit: we definitely need a BHaR 'not a single' resurgence.
  4. Ah I'm glad they're hoping to hit the stadiums again. As Jobby mentioned, the lack of ticket stress is a big win. Fantastic memories from the UK gigs. It was great knowing you would get one of Bliss/Map, B+H/Dead Star at each gig. Knights in the first third was really refreshing too. Hoping they bring back Invincible this time...not Guiding Light haha.
  5. Oh wow. Looking forward to that cover!
  6. I dunno Jobby, 18/19 songs is pretty lame for a band who've been going as long as they have. Perhaps shocking was the wrong word but...it was 21/22 on the T2L tour right? I realise Matt's voice is the likely issue these days though so I do feel bad sometimes moaning about it. 15/16 songs for a headline gig was very poor for the gigs last year though. I won't be going to any if that's gonna be the case for the next one. Fully agree on the autopilot comments, Uprising really suffers from that one imo. I miss the days when it was played early in the set, I just feel it loses much of its power in the encore or towards the end of the main set. 100% in for MK Ultra making a comeback too.
  7. Interesting, I thought the 'save me from the dark side' falsetto was delivered really well like on the album version, didn't sound painful at all to me. Probably my fav part of the song.
  8. I'll hold out hope for the upcoming tour but for the first time since '07 this might be one I skip. This makes me sad. Bare minimum would be: -18/19 songs (which is still shocking for a band their size) per gig. Jams don't count. -a 'semi-rare' slot. Nothing too extreme...MotP or B&H for example. -the return of a dedicated piano section. Please, Muse? -a genuine shake up of the set structure; the Mercy, Uprising and Knights encore was done to death last time. Hoping the inclusion of the ST songs will help with mixing up the order at least. Might as well throw in the wishful thinking: -they keep one of the by request rarities in for each gig: rotate between Assassin/MM/Showbiz/SFA/Eternally Missed etc. -instrumental breaks for Matt are inevitable so something different there would be good...Forced In? The Gallery? -Less likely but maaaybe a revival of a piano-based song like Hoodoo/RBS? Given how expensive ticket prices are these days there has to be something more than just 'new album songs plus the hits' for me to keep on seeing them.
  9. Matt sounds good in that clip. Glad he gave the opening A4 a go.
  10. My biggest gripe with Thought Contagion was that it felt very 'Muse by numbers'. This feels very 'Musey' but is just a much stronger song in general imo. Really, really enjoying that chorus.
  11. I've never seen karaoke bars as good as the ones they had in Japan. The bar we went to in Tokyo had every album with the exception of Hullaballoo! Very much appreciated the ability to lower the key
  12. I thought they would maybe play two or three rarities (Dead Star, Fury, CE) but still didn't expect them to fully commit to the voting or drop so many of the big hits. I remember the guy from Shelter coming out before the band came on, doing a lovely little speech and reciting some lyrics from Dig Down, which of course gave the impression they would play it. ...then that opening salvo of Assassin, Dead Star and Muscle Museum blew the roof off the place. :face melt: Seeing a band for the 20th time shouldn't be that exciting yet it ended up being the best time I've seen them since the very first. Getting to briefly chat to Matt and Dom afterwards and thank them personally capped things in off in the most perfect way possible.
  13. Yeah Animals doesn't really present much of a challenge, vocally. A little gutted we'll likely never see Follow Me again, his vocals were a real highlight of that song live. Can't see Panic Station popping up all that much in future either, lots of A4s (I think?) throughout.
  14. Sure. I mentioned it being a lead single and I'm aware it's a huge hit for them. Not denying that. I'd say the way it's currently sang it's as close to a 'rest' moment as Matt will get, bar playing an instrumental of course. I certainly don't dislike it, it's my favourite song from T2L. I just find it a bit redundant live now because he can't sing the (imo) best part of the song.
  15. Bloody hell. I didn't realise he had attempted the A4 after 2014. That was painful to listen to I wish they'd drop the song forever now but (lead album single aside) I'm guessing it's still getting played because without those A4s it's a very simple one to sing now.
  16. I'm surprised no one mention Matt's 40th birthday yesterday. I guess such things are all over their social media these days. Loved the cake they made for him.
  17. Same here, it's still one of my most vivd memories from Wembley '07.
  18. I know he's been on the decline for a few years now but it still sucks to see him struggling, especially during short setlists.
  19. Do we think they'll do some vocal overdubs for this release? I've only watched the Rome show once but didn't they overdub the final falsetto note at the end of Survival?
