  1. DVD announcement with a song or two from Montreux thrown in. See, this is what 2016 Muse does to me In all seriousness, if the club tour ends up being legit here's hoping they can get to as many different countries as possible, rather than it being just a UK/select parts of Europe thing.
  2. Interesting! A club tour would be great, though I still think they could still play rarity filled sets in larger venues...it's all about how they advertise the gigs. Getting tickets for club shows is too damn stressful Maybe it's the long awaited Zepp footage? Or Montreux?
  3. As Jobby mentioned, New Born at Glastonbury '04 is absolute perfection. I also like: - Madness at Jools Holland 2012, best performance of the song for me. - Follow Me from Taratata, the best Matt ever sounded on that song. - CoD at Denver 2006. That A4! Thanks for recently bringing it to my attenion, Tjet. - SS from Wembley 2007. Great performance and the way it's shot takes it to another level.
  4. Those encores. ^ If only they played 22-24 songs a night. Edit: Just came across the 2007 Tokyo Forum set. Man, their sets in that era were so great. 1. Take a Bow 2. Hysteria 3. Map of the Problematique 4. Butterflies & Hurricanes 5. Assassin 6. Sing for Absolution 7. Citizen Erased 8. Hoodoo 9. Apocalypse Please 10. Feeling Good 11. Sunburn 12. Starlight 13. Time Is Running Out 14. New Born 15. Forced In + Bliss 16. Soldier's Poem 17. Invincible 18. Supermassive Blackhole 19. Stockholm Syndrome 20. City of Delusion 21. Plug In Baby 22. Knights of Cydonia
  5. Dead Inside 8/10 A brilliant pop rock song, they finally nailed what they were trying to go for with Undisclosed Desires and Madness. Matt's vocal work is fantastic. Psycho 7/10 Like many have said, it's just too long. Needs a good minute and a half trimmed off and could have done with a variation on the riff to finish on. Great gig opener though. Mercy 6/10 Pop Muse by numbers; there's nothing that really makes it stand out compared to something like Starlight, though I really like the vocals in the verses. Not keen on the bridge. The confetti live is pretty great but confetti improves most things. Reapers 9/10 One of their best straight up 'rock' songs in ages, with a ridiculously catchy chorus. Great vocals, instrumentation and it's a beast live. Great fun to play on bass. The Handler 9/10 Best song on the album IMO. I've always felt Muse are at their best (musically and lyrically) when they touch on the darker themes. Outstanding vocals which were sadly only ever matched a few times live Defector 6/10 I like this one but I just wish they had reigned in on those Queen-esque backing vocals, this is coming from a huge Queen fan, even now they're so jarring . The JFK speech leading in and ending guitar solo are brilliant. Aftermath 4/10 This one starts so well, the intro is pretty haunting and I don't mind the chorus, the solo I love...but everything post solo is just . The Globalist 6/10 Mixed feelings with this one. The whistle intro on the album hurts my ears and live it's a complete buzz kill, the middle part is astonishing but the solo/post countdown section is criminally short, the final section is just really 'safe' for me...a little to similar to USoE, though it was improved live. That being said, I'm really hoping it's gone next tour and frees up two more song slots. Drones 3/10 It's technically impressive but it's not something I would ever choose to listen to unless I had the album on in full. There was absolutely no need to play it twice during the arena shows either.
  6. Holy balls. The guitar solo sounds great. I'm glad he gave that A4 a go as well, you could tell it knackered him out for the next note but it was worth it. Is this performance the only time he ever attempted it live?
  7. Ah interesting, I had no idea they had ever performed CoD without it...I saw it live at Wembley '07 with Dan and thought that was how they always did it. I can imagine the guitar solo sounding good live.
  8. Part of the reason I find SMBH a bit dull these days is due to him barely doing any improvisation these days. He used to vary the guitar part up a fair bit on the BHaR and TR tour but it's pretty routine now, 'safe' for lack of a better word. That Hovet whammy solo was cool, hadn't seen that before.
  9. I've always felt some orchestral dates would be brilliant, given their back catalogue I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. A two night residency at the Royal Albert Hall with a full orchestra...one can dream. 1. Take a Bow/ Knights of Cydonia 2. Uprising 3. Hysteria 4. Bliss/ MK Ultra 5. Plug in Baby 6. Sing for Absolution 7. New Born 8. Butterflies and Hurricanes 9. Citizen Erased 10. United States of Eurasia 11. Megalomania/ Sunburn 12. Hoodoo/ Ruled by Secrecy 13. Supremacy 14. City of Delusion 15. Starlight 16. Blackout/ Unintended 17. Survival 18. Exogenesis 19. Muscle Museum 20. Stockholm Syndrome 21. Knights of Cydonia/ Take A Bow
  10. TSP and TOADA would be good...they don't seem too difficult vocally? Also, the return of Hoodoo to the piano section is long overdue. Edit: forgot about the trumpet in CoD, it won't happen but they should bring Dan back so he can do it on Knights as well.
  11. We tried with Muscle Museum as well and got one or two performances, wish we got more as it sounded brilliant imo. Darkshines was the surprise highlight of Leeds 2011 for me, it's not one from OoS I listen to often but the live version is phenomenal, would be more than happy if they started giving it a go again. If not CoD I'd also like Endlessly and Sing for Absolution.
  12. The Handler will likely go the way of MK Ultra, which I'm not too upset about as Matt could never really do it justice, vocally. Shame because it packed a punch otherwise. Like Tjet said, this album might be like T2L in that not much sticks around next time.
  13. And so ends the Drones era. Nice to go out with Assassin and CE. Regarding the tour DVD, it'd be good if they showed some of the Psycho tour as well, some behind the scenes footage as well as a rare song or two.
  14. I feel the same way about the Drones tour for the most part, at least in terms of pro shots. I haven't had the drive to watch every pro-shot video this time round like I did with all of the previous tours. Part of that is finding it hard to watch Matt struggle with certain songs this tour.
