  1. Holy balls. I had a feeling Matt wouldn't try to hit such high notes anymore. Glad to know he's still pushing himself in the studio. To be honest everything I've heard from this place has got me more excited than ever for the album.
  2. Never sure how much we can discuss these sort of things but someone asked Elle on Instagram earlier about a song she'd like to see come back and she responded with Cave. She also mentioned "some old songs I love, Matt says will never come back." I liked jazz cave, it'd be cool to see the guitar version again sometime. Half a step down of course.
  3. It's never going to happen but I'd very much appreciate if Muse decide not to do two Manchester dates (providing two is even on the cards) and instead do one in Manc and one at Liverpool (Anfield)...if only because it's been so long since they played here...and I can walk it in 15 minutes from my house.
  4. Yep, pretty much this. I'm hoping it'll be a minimum of 22 but trying to stay somewhat realistic given Matt's voice now. If they played songs that were easier for him and didn't play Mercy every night...that'd be a start. 3 piano based songs would be great as well. It needs some love this tour.
  5. That should free up two songs at least. I still can't believe they played Drones twice at every gig. Chris' words are quite encouraging, the band getting so burnt out on the Drones tour could have been so easily avoided if they had more faith in their back catalogue and varied things for those multiple night venues, could have been done even without any b-sides or ultra rarities as well. If the summer gigs are indeed stadiums shows I'd like to think they'll be doing 20/21 songs again, I've always thought they tend to get the balance pretty spot-on with the bigger gigs.
  6. Haha, hey you're welcome, it definitely wouldn't have been played if it hadn't been for your efforts. Hearing AP for the first time was special but Assassin took the night to another level.
  7. Holy balls. I've never heard him go for a B4 before! Regarding Matt's voice and a vocal teacher...I'm by no means as knowledgable as Tjet is on the matter but I reckon once you begin your decline isn't it unlikely you'll be able to return to (or even get close to) your 'peak'. The thing that bothered was me around the Drones tour was how Matt started to change the way he phrased (? not sure on the correct term) his singing, taking odd pauses as if he's trying to catch his breath. Seems like he does it on almost every song now.
  8. I've been thinking a lot recently about the band and where my 'fandom' is at the moment. I definitely hit a bit of fatigue in mid 2016, had a big burn out with Drones (though I still like most of it), had some issues with the arena setlists and it was tough to see Matt begin his vocal decline. It wasn't a bad performance overall but I was really let down with their third Glastonbury performance and didn't listen to them at all for a good year or so. It was SBE which completely rejuvenated my love for them and after 20 gigs is probably the best I've seen them play since the very first time in ’07. I was listening to them last night and stopped to reflect: I still bloody love the band. I don't think I'll ever reach that point from 2007-2013 where I lived and breathed everything they did but you know what? That's okay. I didn’t try and wasn’t too fussed about tickets for the RAH gig, whereas a few years back I would have been gutted for being able to attend. I'm made up for all those going and can't wait to see some footage. Looking back...I've been immensely lucky to see so many great gigs ( and can still pick out so many brilliant moments from each one, with meeting and chatting to the band after SBE being the peak. I'm never going to top that night but once again, I'm okay with it. I'm also very much looking forward to ST and the upcoming stadium tour. I dunno, I've been trying to keep a more positive outlook on things in general recently and I'm no longer concerned if a song isn't up there with my favourites or what they choose to play live. Again, I'm lucky to have seen a lot of their catalogue live and for any future gigs...I'm happy as long as the band seem to be having fun. I really thought the band looked tired on most of the Drones arena dates and the 'spark' was absent, apart from the few rarities that popped up (thank you once again Jobby for Assassin at the O2 ) and they looked more into it. I don't recall checking Youtube for memorable performances of songs at all, something I used to spend hours doing back in the day. That being said, I'm hopeful they're gonna come back on great form like they were through the T2L era. Fingers crossed. This has been oddly therapeutic
  9. I'm the same with MK Ultra, I always forget and 'rediscover' it. I do love love the song though. I always forget about Unnatural Selection as well though the studio version never really clicked with me. Futurism has slowly crept up into my top 10 songs recently. That's another one that really benefits from being half a step down.
  10. I was gonna ask you this Jobby, if you were gonna try and meet them after? No idea on how the venue works in that capacity mind and looks like it might be difficult After a bit of thought I'm gonna give this one a miss, bit on the pricey side (if I even managed to get tickets) and factoring in travel and all the extras...think I'll hold off until the stadiums. Made up for all those who are going though, what a venue and I'm sure it'll be an awesome performance. I reckon a rarity or two and Jools with the gospel choir for Dig Down.
  11. You reckon he'll eventually stop attempting it and just go for the falsetto?
  12. Enjoyed SH and Matt sounded good on TDS, though that opening belt seemed a little off?
  13. I really liked T2L at the time and still prefer it over TR. I never liked the tracklisting for T2L though, I always felt it started really strong and tailed off after Animals. Making my own order helped me appreciate it even more once the initial novelty wore off. I've a lot of fond memories from that era in general to be honest; I adored (still do tbh) Madness and enjoyed the build up to the album release, the early promo performances were excellent with Matt at his vocal peak, the arena and stadium tour were (imo) excellent. Good times.
  14. Ohhhh I see. Haha yeah, picking from the set seems likely! To be honest just seeing them in that setting would be enough, as you said. Good luck to all those trying.
  15. Something to mark ten years since their last gig there would be cool. I'd be up Meglomania and that organ again. I wonder if they'll bring the gospel choir/horns and possibly strings? Maybe Jools made then open to the idea of playing with other musicians? Did I hear something about a lucky competition winner getting to choose a song? Edit: could perhaps see them doing that Duran Duran cover, just got a feeling.
  16. Thanks for compiling the details all into one place. Will give it a try, as always! Should be a great gig. Do we think they'll do anything 'special' for it?
  17. I like it, ridiculously catchy. Really entertaining video as well I was expecting a little more 'oomph' from that chorus mind, which is taking a bit to get used to. Also, I feel they've gone a bit overboard on the harmonies in recent times but they're used really well in this song.
