  1. I've been to nine Muse gigs in the UK and they've all had brilliant crowds, apart from maybe V Festival 2008. For those saying Germany crowds aren't that lively, having watched a lot of Rock Am Ring videos, I'm a little confused by those comments. Some of the videos of Muse there have had great crowds especially.
  2. I watched the music video for Butterflies & Hurricanes for the first time in ages last week, and now I can't stop listening to it. The guitar in the music video version is so much more prominent than the album version, it's great.
  3. The Handler Reapers Dead Inside Mercy Psycho The Globalist Defector Aftermath Drones Revolt People who claim Reapers sounds like AC/DC, I don't understand that. Let me know if there are any AC/DC songs Drop D riffs and I'll be happy to take it back. The tapping at the start is more Van Halen than AC/DC, but comparing the song to classic rock is just wrong. When I think of classic rock I think of slow drums and loud chords a la Aerosmith, not fast paced Drop D riffs and breakdowns that are akin to RATM.
  4. Showbiz: Falling Down Origin of Symmetry: Screenager Absolution: Endlessly BH&R: Exo-Politics The Resistance: I Belong To You The 2nd Law: Madness Drones: Revolt (Don't necessarily hate those songs, just like them a lot less than the others) People voting for The Small Print I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
  5. Remember when we found out Dom had added a second bass pedal to his drum kit and many assumed that a more metal album was confirmed? Turns out he uses it on Dead Inside Does he actually use it on any other songs, whether they're on Drones or not?
  6. Just got back, and I fucking love this festival. I'll definitely be back. Onto Muse, and bloody hell what a set! Did what they had to do and showed Download that they can kick it up there with the big metal bands. I stood about halfway back to be with my girlfriend but I was very envious of everyone at the front with a setlist as heavy as that. Was it crazy down the front? And how big was the crowd?
  7. You can have a listen back here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05wyds7 Muse start about 1h 7min 50sec in...
  8. Defector is great, the only thing annoying me is the Queen harmonies (I like Queen, but I've had enough of Muse doing it). The Handler is fucking tight. Up there with Reapers with the best of what I've heard from Drones so far. Haven't heard the last four tracks yet but getting a little nervous with all the negativity...
  9. Apparently they'll get just over two hours on stage... seems almost too good to be true though. Has anyone else been bigging up Muse to their doubtful friends who are also going to Download? I've had to do a lot of explaining to sceptical metalheads. I just hope Muse don't erase all the good things I've had to say about how they'll "play a heavy set" by playing all of their hits. Hope Chris remembers what he said about their heavier stuff/deeper cuts.
  10. Fair enough, nice to see some agreement! It doesn't have the most noticeable of basslines. I've never been on the barrier myself, but as someone who is 6'5 and a little claustrophobic, I need to move around and let my energy out, hence why I always spend most of the gig in the mosh pit.
  11. If they added in one or two rarities on top of the album tracks, I'd understand that, but I wouldn't replace them all with rarities. If they put in Uno and Muscle Museum I'd be stoked.
  12. As nice as it would be to have rarities on the DVD, why would they put old songs on a Drones DVD? That wouldn't make much sense. It's there purely for live footage of Drones tracks.
  13. I never really liked that video for some reason... I can't quite figure out why though. I much prefer the USA video for it.
  14. A friend of mine linked me to this earlier and commented that he thinks the guys look "fed up" in this video. I didn't really think like that. If they are then I assumed it was because Mutt was working them to the bone. Did anyone else think they looked fed up?
  15. Yeah there's nothing too distinguishable that makes it better. I do like the synths at the end of the verses to be fair, but you're right, there is something missing from the end that could make it amazing.
  16. This is growing on me. I didn't particularly dislike it, but I'm enjoying it a bit more now, like a 7/10. Having seen the clip of it being played live in Brighton, it does bring another dimension to the song. I know the second half bores people with its four chord stuff, but I kinda prefer that part.
