  1. Not that crazy, but the part from 3:55 is where it got interesting. The filter is not set up to my liking too much (not enough depth to it). It would be a nice thing to do if you were in a cover band after the song had ended
  2. Oh that Bliss cover, you were curious about it :p so I said I had uploaded it ;)

  3. You could shoot those scenes too with a point and shoot I think your pictures in general have as difference from mine that yours are usually stills (be it a street or a posed pictures), where mine are usually taken in motion. The latter requires loads of shots so it's more sensible to have it this way Doesn't mean I'm against analogue, it's just very impractical. It also doesn't mean I don't try to make my shots count. As all the pics I take need sorting etc it would be stupid to just go and shoot and hope there's something good in there Last gig I could shoot 45 minutes, and took only a bit more than 200 pictures (incl. burst shots). About 20/30 are setting up / compensating for a shitty lighting dude... then there's a few of the support act (about 30) and then there's 150 of the main band. I narrow that down to about 30 pictures and then I start processing. The 170 I didn't use were not left because they were necessarily carelessly shot pictures and the other 30 were 'lucky shots', they were just not right or others were simply better. It comes down to this: difference in purpose and style, so definitely not comparable.
  4. As a bass player it bugs me the bassline was taken off of it almost completely, but it does fit the metal style! Nice work regarding the arrangement, the solo sounds a bit overly happy but I'm glad to see it back in the song Keep it up!
  5. I cant stand the automatic modes... Only thing that's automatic is focus. Yup, it lacks emotion.. wasn't meant to be that style
  6. I don't like taking too many shots though, I really prefer my shot to be right first time. That's why I want to get a good prime too: having to move to take a frame rather than zoom is a good thing imho. However, for band photography it's a real good thing we have digital cameras... it allows to compensate for nooby light techs.
  7. It's trickier than you'd think! I also think it's a quite hard song to play without a proper click (or a drummer next to you) as you may have noticed from my timing in the beginning of the song.
  8. I'm sure I've uploaded this before... I miss playing in this band But the whole reason I've uploaded this is so I could show a recording of me playing I'm fairly happy with 01 New One.mp3
  9. Nice photos James! However, if you want the entire picture to be sharp take a lower diaphragm (higher number). Try f8 at ISO 400 or 800, and take a picture from your tripod at a longer exposure. With a DSLR it doesn't hurt too much to up the ISO values a bit (however for gear pics don't go beyond 800, preferably lower). I took gig pics at ISO 4000 yesterday and those came out pretty awesome.
