  1. Try to lay-back and lock in with the drums. I prefer someone playing wrong notes in time than someone playing the rights but with the wrong timing. The sound is pretty good
  2. On album: yes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_-d4H4Vrbo Boring.
  3. The piano sounds very uninspiring...
  4. Is there even a proper recording of S4A with piano?
  5. You should have no problem finding a second hand vintage modified jazz there also, some of the SX basses are great.
  6. It's the perfect bass to go, and upgrades usually make it a killer bass if you want to stick with it.
  7. I'm not sure where you're based but there's usually a lot of decently priced basses on basschat, I'd definitely recommend a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz. (my baby: )
  8. I'm sure that if you go to a jewellery shop they'd be willing to make something like that for you
  9. If anyone can find out it's Kev, but I doubt he's read this. You'd do best to PM him, but he would need to have the time to look that up too.
  10. Och, die sets waren sowieso wat raar... afsluiten met Starlight zal nooit echt 'n succes worden. Het meest interessante van de DVD is de documentaire 'The Road'.
  11. I really think it could be a combination of that; if I listen to around 3:06 it does have that deep fuzzy tone.
  12. Means it's probably discontinued; I can't find it through the normal shop. I'd recommend trying to find it second hand, or check the shop regularly to see if a similar item comes up for sale.
  13. To be honest I think the Fuzz Head could be used as a boost after the FF, or in songs like Stockholm Syndrome? Then again, it's not a sound as articulate as the FF so harder to find out.
  14. I think in any band, and with song writing in general, you have to try to visualize the frequencies to find gaps in your sound. Some say this is a too analytical approach, but it really helps to beef up your sound, or find why something just doesn't sound right. A non-band related example is a choir I used to play the piano for. The conductor switched some notes in the alto and tenor part around, for convenience in singing. However, it all sounded very dissonant because the switch caused two notes to be next to each other, whereas they should've been further apart to sound right. This is basically what sound does in any context though. Two notes next to each other may sound messed up, but further apart they can sound great. Back on-topic: it's a mix of the guitars (of course), but also the combination of amps, microphone placement etc... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFCD9jGlB74 Probably seen by everybody here, but still nice to see. I personally always found this tone to be very hollow, not sure why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJr9np00s4Q&feature=youtu.be&t=5m
  15. It was done years ago though I wish I could redo it with some people.... I have my animato clone now, although I'm happy with the way I played the piano. It's just not mixed right (let alone the singing).
