Live at Gran Rex 2008 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
matthijs replied to SerpentDiaboli's topic in Bootlegs
Absolution tone was the best. He ditched some real amps in this tour in favour of the kemper. But it's more consistent this tour compared to the resistance tour. I feel the cleans are a lot more crisp now. -

Perhaps that's my bassist point of view. Most gigs after 2008 just don't have proper bass sound in my opinion. I'm just a grumpy bastard when it comes to his sound. Matt's guitar sound has only gotten better -

Liquid State sounded horrible, nearly always outclassed by the drums. But like I said, it's mostly the sound, sounding very overprocessed. The grittiness in the sound seems to have disappeared, and that made the sound so punchy. Basically, the best sound of the tour: Panic Station. Sunburn really didn't sound good in my opinion, no clarity in tone. It's all muddy and lacks definition. There's only one song which bass sound has improved, and that's starlight. I should add that most of my experience comes from the gigs I've seen over the years; I find it hard to rely on the videos as they don't all record sound in the same way it seems. (13 gigs between 2003 / 2013) -

Perhaps great in studio settings but in the stadium it just sounded balls. -

Any good examples of Chris's tone sounding great though? I really found it lacking last few years Too over processed for some reason. -
Already loved mathness, this one is great too!

Why not just go to musebootlegs and download it? It doesn't need to be on youtube... -

I love the later performances of Apocalypse Please; especially the drums in the interlude are just a lot better for me. Not sure what 'interesting' about the Apocalypse Please vocals though According to setlist fm, space dementia was played only 3 times in that tour; Muse at Teatro Gran Rex, Buenos Aires, Argentin, Muse at Auditorio Telmex, Guadalajara, Mexico Artist: Muse, Tour: Black Holes and Revelations, Venue: Auditorio Telmex, Guadalajara, Mexico, Muse at Arena Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico The only times after that were Marlay Park/V festivals, and the OOS at Leeds/Reading. Last time invincible was played, was at the V festival 2008 (August 17th); this performance, it had something extra in the last chorus, feel wise. Not sure what! -
Good cover, but completely not my style.

Is it just me who would want Abso as played on the album for a anniversary gig?

Badass bridges: do recommend. Funnily enough I don't have them on mine, but I've heard basses improve the sound (mostly sustain) a lot!

@ joemckie Would be better if you'd have done it on bass @es: I don't agree on not having the vocals! I've always been against oversustaining, I don't like it as it is mostly done to cover up mistakes and sloppy playing styles, and a proper pedal technique makes your songs so much better to listen too.
-
I tried to do a video today recording just my pedal. Then I realised that I need to brush up on the song
-
I've got an old cover (2007-ish), but the sound is rather shit. In the chorus I do sustain tiny bits to cover up the changes I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLpsP35aEX0

My sheet books are in Estonia, I've written it out there... basically release after your right hand is done, and quickly after your first left... it's tricky, probably the trickiest pedal play in any Muse song. It's my personal preference though, I think Matt has it it including the bass note... I find it gets too messy
-
I wish I could sing Your right hand can use some more force, now it's just: "tum -whiddle whiddle - tum - whiddle whiddle" (etc). Lacks a bit of sharpness in the notes; could be slightly overdone sustain pedal. It helps if you play the bass note without the sustainer, and leave it for the higher notes.

Looks like a great rig Current offer on my bass is €300,- with an Ibanez BTB 405 QM... not bad so far
