Clunge
I genuinely think this might be Muse's worst song ever. Sure there have been loads of duffers, but they've come as part of a creative process that has produced some mega tracks. You win some, you lose some, they at least felt like the band was mking an effort one way or another. Dig Down though, jesus. It's like they actually didn't give a shit and just tossed something off to fill a gap. How did they make something so bland after the likes of Dead Inside, Reapers and The Handler? Jobby
^ I remember hearing a lot of the same descriptions for NSC tbf. Not that NSC was good or owt, but I don't think Dig Down's the first.
Oy
At least NSC was a complete one off though. According to Matt, Dig Down will be on the new album. Comparing to the other electro-pop singles, I think it's considerably worse than UD, Madness and DI - and they all came off average to poor albums. Puts a big downer on this next album before we've even gotten to the proper build up stage..
'bros' owl
Thought it sounded fine when I saw it, nice to open with a new song and a probably nice for the band to start by playing something new.
Hopix
Please don't put it on the album. It'll ruin the flow, even if it were a good song.

Chris said they might just get away with the streams of singles for now and a full eighth album is still up in the air, so Dig Down may not even be included. MartianSpaghettiRider
When did he say that? Here, but mind that the last bit about Dig Down was just a theory of mine: https://www.irishnews.com/arts/2017/08/18/news/dig-it-muse-talk-vital-and-embracing-the-single-life-1113636/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C9963539426
musedan
Something's been bugging me for a while now and I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it. During both choruses, I can hear something hidden in the track that sounds out of place...it kind of sounds like Matt laughing. I can hear it at 1:21 and 2:18. Has anyone else heard this? Forgive me if this is old news!
Hat
I honestly think you're just reacting to Matt's falsetto.
musedan
After listening again a few times I can't see how it would be the falsetto, it sounds like "Huh-huh" or "Huh-buh".
Hat
Oh I know what you mean now. Doesn't sound like Matt laughing though. Just sounds like a lower vocal track that goes on for half a second longer than the lead track, because because of effects?
musedan
Yeah maybe, it stands out like a sore thumb every time I listen to it now.
