halo eighteen
Ouch.. Columbus... not much better than Cincinnati. It just dawned on me that the expensive "VIP" tickets don't seem to be accounted for in these boxscores, unless maybe just the base ticket price is. I wonder how much hidden profit the band would see from those packages anyway.
Discoprincess32
Anything on Seattle? I was barrier and made friends with the security guy. His "official" evening report said attendance was 11,300+ and only behind the stage was curtained off. TR tour was sold out at 13,375 (behind stage was open and full as you can see on the TR tour video). Thanks!
podiumboy
So far nothing on San Diego, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, Cleveland. Everything after St. Louis hasn't had time to be reported yet, as Billboard only compiles this list once a week. Usually updates every Wed/Thur. halo eighteen
No Detroit either, which I'm particularly interested in. It looked like a somewhat large crowd, but nowhere close to a sell out.
muse samuse
Attendance at the US T2L gigs reported so far have averaged about 1,000 to 3,000 less than comparable figures at the same venues during the US TR tour. The higher ticket prices may have impacted sales somewhat. I paid $84 ($63 face value plus various TM fees and venue charges) for the show at Target Center which is rather steep for some especially in the smaller markets. Attendance in the five figures in big cities like LA, NYC, Chicago, Seattle, Detroit, SF/Oakland, Boston, Toronto and Montreal will offset the under-performing numbers at the Columbus, Cincinnati and Sacramento gigs. muse samuse
hey muse s'amuse , do you have any information about grosses of black holes and revelations tour and the resistance tour ? US$100-$130 million (Est) TR Worldwide Concert Grosses (arenas and stadiums) and all of the many festival headliner performance fees and U2 support shows during 2009-2011 I do not have any reported numbers from the BH&R tour but assume a greater percentage of the total gross came from European shows compared with the last two tours. Perhaps US$40-$60 million would be a fair estimate which takes into account the lower ticket prices for that tour.
halo eighteen
I did come across a handful of 2006-2007 North American boxscores but don't feel it's appropriate to clog up this thread with them. It's like night and day comparing then to now though. They weren't even selling out some of the 2,500 capacity venues they played back then. muse samuse
How much wins every member from all that money? Tour gross ticket sales X*.15*1/3 for each band member (After artist manager is paid a commission on gross profits and net after tour costs including tour manager, promoter and booking agent fees, legal and insurance and accounting expenses are deducted, and taxes are paid) - Estimate assuming a top marginal tax rate of 45%-50% in the UK and an equal split of the profits. Artist manager fee can range from 10-20%. Bands make money from merchandise sales at each venue too up to $5 per head. High profile artists are also sometimes given guarantees by promoters. Museman8989
I wonder how Boston and CT will do, it could be the fate of them coming back to southern new england this fall... boston should be fine. but having CT the next day could possibly split the attendence a little for both. if boston were on its own im sure itd sell out but people have some options since theyre only about 2.5 hours from each other. iwillbechasingastarlight
Why aren't all of the Muse gigs reported ? It would be good to have all numbers from the tour. Also,I read something like " Muse’s last tour grossed around 20% of Coldplay’s last tour" which is obviously incorrect but people think like this because they only report some of the US gigs. Muse's TR tour from 2009-11 grossed about 70%-75% of Coldplay's MX tour from 2011-12 depending on whether you use box office figures from Pollstar or Billboard Boxscore. I am still wondering why they are coming back in the fall. I numbers are OK, i guess. COLDPLAY MX TOUR (which I saw) TICKETS SOLD/AVAILABLE AT END OF TOUR about 2,106,889 / 2,114,751 (99% of tickets sold) Grossing about $181,704,765. wow. muse has a long way to catch up to Coldplay's numbers. muse samuse
Do you have the same stat for T2L tour in Europe 2012? We have actual grosses from only three venues in London, Manchester and Hamburg so any estimates would be speculative and not reliable. Ticket prices are higher in Europe than North America. Excluding the small club gigs last fall there were maybe 25 arena shows. Average Gross per Show: $700k-$800k with a high of $1,500,000 at the Manchester gig. Total Gross Europe 2012: $20-21 million

podiumboy
Muse, Circa Survive Mohegan Sun Arena Uncasville, Conn. April 13, 2013 $299,610 4,970 / 5,715 1 / 0 $65, $45 in-house Muse, Biffy Clyro TD Garden Boston, Mass. April 12, 2013 $729,695 12,187 / 12,187 1 / 1 $65, $45 Frank Productions One good, one not so good. Mohegan Sun Arena's wikipedia page says it has 10,000 seats and a maximum concert capacity of 12,000, with seats behind the stage and on the floor. The reason Muse's capacity is 5,715 is because I'm guessing there were section of the upper deck curtained off. You gotta wonder if a 300,000 gross is making any profit with a production like that. I would imagine that if they were going to lose money, they would cancel (like they did with the Uniondale show).
muse samuse
The just reported box office numbers from the Boston gig (12,000) were good while Uncasville (5,000) underperformed somewhat probably because of the close proximity of the two venues and concert dates. Estimated paid attendance for the unreported and upcoming shows in the US & Canada for the 2013 T2L tour: 9,000 San Diego 10,000 Seattle 6,000 Cleveland 10,000 Detroit 9,000 Las Vegas 28,000 New York City (two shows at MSG) 10,000 East Rutherford, NJ 6,500 Charlotte 9,000 Atlanta 6,500 Nashville 6,000 Pittsburgh 11,000 Philadelphia 14,000 Washington DC 9,000 Denver 9,000 Salt Lake City 7,500 Edmonton 6,500 Calgary 8,500 Vancouver 26,000 Toronto (two shows) 24,000 Montreal (two shows) 10,000 Quebec City Total projected grosses for 44 shows: US$24 million Total projected attendance: 412,000 Average ticket price: US$

Green Day sold about 5,500 tickets at Mohegan Sun Arena earlier this month while Coldplay sold just over 8,000. The average ticket price for Muse at this venue was $60 so the best seats were bought which is good. In terms of making a profit you have to think about the tour as a whole. MSQ will more than offset Mohegan.
