  1. I reckon HCM would be a good closer of sorts, I would just kind of prefer to see it close either the main set or one of the encores than the whole set. As predictable as it is, getting the chance to jump around like a headless chicken during Knights or to witness the inevitable bombastic pyro/CO2 ft. screaming and feedback at the end of TaB (which would be my preferred closer) would be more enjoyable for me as a way of bringing the night to a close. And if we're talking about a club show (where the explosions and stuff would work less well) I'd still rather see SS + multiple riffs + "Chris in the crowd with a bass on his head" first, because I never got a chance to see that in 2004
  2. Just a really, really boring setlist. Not obviously awful to a casual fan. Uprising (no outro) SMBH Resistance (single-necked guitar intro, Matt in falsetto for "Resistance") Panic Station Interlude Hysteria New Born (2012 arena version/speed) Follow Me Liquid State Feeling Good Explorers Blackout (Chris on guitar) Guiding Light (2013 stadium version) Madness (Matt in falsetto for "I need to love") Undisclosed Desires Time is Running Out Plug in Baby Stockholm Syndrome (1 riff?) Knights of Cydonia Starlight
  3. "Aseeeeeeeyeeeaaaaayyyaaayyyaaan wayyyadooooooowiinh tomeeeeeeeaaahhh".
  4. A setlist that I randomly found on my computer, fairly sure it was supposed to be performed with an orchestra Unsustainable Supremacy Map of the Problematique City of Delusion MK Ultra Citizen Erased Apocalypse Please Sunburn Hoodoo Space Dementia Knights of Cydonia Monty Jam United States of Eurasia New Born Butterflies and Hurricanes Blackout Stockholm Syndrome (w/ brass) + Riffs Take A Bow Overture Cross-Pollination Redemption Glorious Prelude Survival
  5. Ideally for me Isolated System, Explorers, Follow Me will go, as will Panic Station, which performs the same function as SMBH but is much shitter. Would like Animals and Unsustainable as occasional rarities, and maybe a mental over the top Prelude could be tried out before Survival?
  6. Any list with Lonely Boy amongst its top riffs doesn't need to be taken seriously (and denying Page, Richards and Hendrix more than one song is ridiculous). That said, it is fair to say there haven't been any classic Muse riffs for a while
  7. Yeah for me B&H was definitely better at Emirates 2 than Dead Star was at Emirates 1, and it sounded/looked amazing in the Aussie gigs with the golden/green visuals. I also think the studio version with the additional guitars easily beats Dead Star's, even with Matt's crazy breathing and screaming
  8. It's far too well-written to be the same person responsible for the "elfy magicka" or whatever it was
  9. The only bit of that I find controversial is Explorers, I love the other two On the other side of the coin, I hated MK Ultra when it came out and still don't care for it now. It's not particularly melodic or powerful and as far as I'm concerned it is one of Muse's worst drop D songs; there are at least 6 that should be played instead of it. The live version is all right, mainly thanks to the big riffs and Matt's screams (e.g Rock am Ring) but the studio version is awful, especially the outro. I always skip it when I'm listening to TR.
  10. I'm getting a little bit tired of all of this Arctic Monkeys arse-kissing from NME; it reminds me a bit of their Strokes obsession in 2000. Not sure their (admittedly quite good) headline set at Glasto was a genuine Musical Moment of the Year or whatever they call it, and I don't get why AT is up for hero of the year. The album was good and Do I Wanna Know is a great song but I think they overhyped and overrated AM a bit - it's not a classic. I still think they'll win both best band and best album though; both those categories are the weakest I've seen in a while. Don't even get me started on the Muse nominations though. Most of them make no sense.
  11. Something like what a Rock am Ring//Rock Werchter/Rock im Park/La Rising setlist should really consist of: 1. What’s He Building In There + Dead Star 2. Agitated 3. Yes Please 4. The Groove 5. Map of the Problematique (03050.. outro) 6. The Small Print 7. Assassin 8. Butterflies and Hurricanes 9. Supremacy 10. Citizen Erased 11. Apocalypse Please 12. United States of Eurasia/Sunburn 13. Space Dementia (guitar outro) 14. Showbiz 15. Hyper Chondriac Music 16. The 2nd Law: Unsustainable 17. Hysteria 18. Knights of Cydonia 19. Unnatural Selection 20. Micro Cuts 21. Stockholm Syndrome + 10 riffs 22. Take a Bow (+ optional Exo 1+2+3 in here maybe) 23. Prelude 24. Survival (with loads and loads of pyro) They probably wouldn't make it to the second encore but hey
  12. Just listened to/watched the entire ACL 2013 gig again (the proshot one) and I have to say it's defo one of my favourites of the tour. The setlist isn't particularly amazing (although no FG, Explorers or GL is a good thing) but performance-wise it's fantastic, they look like they're having so much fun. Uns, Supremacy, Map, PiB and Stockholm all sound so heavy and powerful.
