  1. Thoughts on the gig tonight, which was surreal. Psycho REALLY worked live, the crowd went nuts. MM was , was amazed at how well everyone knew it. On the contrary, the performance of Futurism was the best I've seen yet, but no-one around me seemed to know it (and I was quite far forward). Reapers was fab but can understand why they chose Knights over it, the reaction was much bigger (still think Bliss should be brought back as a closer though). Township Rebellion after Map was also a highlight. Overall, blown away!
  2. I want them all! The two songs we've heard already are relatively hard-hitting and the IG clips kinda suggest heavy or atmospheric stuff, both of which are great. I just wanted to make sure some of my (very tentative) hopes for this album aren't already misplaced...
  3. Do we think we're gonna hear the remaining IG guitar riffs (the tremolo thing, the slide thing, the Assassin-esque thing and the thing with no audio) on some of the remaining tracks on the album? Would be a little bit exciting if so...
  4. Â This, and it's why I should have really stayed away from the board after listening to Reapers. I was blown away by it, I thought it was fun and mad and wild, but coming on here and reading people's criticism of it - a lot of which is fair, but a lot of which is also a bit ridiculous - has slightly diminished that enthusiasm (even though I know it shouldn't) Â EDIT: and yeah, if Muse had been the first people to do a song called "Money" with cash register noises on it, I bet a large number of people would be getting properly annoyed
  5. This I absolutely loved the song from the first full YT vid I saw. I don't understand the extent of some of the sniffiness about classic rock on here, I think the chorus sounds great (return of the distorted vocals as well, which is always a plus). The verses have that TSP or MKU urgency about them and the outro is nice and heavy as well (and am I imagining the sound of an air raid siren or something playing over it?) Also, is it just me or is there the most blatant but brief homage to the Back in Black solo at 3:00?
  6. I've felt like I shouldn't like this song, but every time I listen to it I enjoy it. It's not perfect by any means and the band are capable of far better, but I don't really care.
  7. I think I've actually liked this song more each time I've listened to it The riff is properly heavy, especially on big speakers, and the verse melodies are very nice (especially the harmonies). The "I'm gonna make you, I'm gonna break you" stuff is a great build into the guitar stuff as well. In terms of picking up elements of other songs, I think it kinda plays on the glam of Uprising a little bit, but in a good way. The "fucking psycho" bits remind me of Matt singing the "Supermassive Black Hole!!!" parts in SMBH circa 2006, and of all of the laughing at the beginning of Yes Please. There's also a bit of a Dead Star homage with the isolated guitar riff towards the end as well. Overall I'm pleasantly pleased!
  8. Based on the lyrical themes of CE - at least how Matt has tried to talk about them - I reckon there are a probably a few contenders on the first half of the album for whole CE2 thing (entirely based on their titles, of course)
  9. I kinda like the idea that: (1) Matt's tweet refers to the Absolute gig (2) Matt just posted that without letting Absolute know (3) It was supposed to be a secret until they announce it (4) Matt is a cheeky thunder-stealer
  10. 11pm GMT and this thread is still packed ("All the pretty visitors came and waved their arms..." etc). I've been reluctant to give an opinion on when stuff is gonna come out but I have to say I'm fairly sure something will come out this week. The hype train from the people around Muse themselves has just picked up a little bit and I like the idea of Zane going full circle by ending with a band he started with. Also on the whole OOS thing, didn't the band say to the people in Vancouver that the album was sounding like a cross between BH&R and Abso?
  11. On this whole "it would be announced long before if they were going to premiere songs on ZL's show", does anyone know what the timeframes were for the T2L song announcements? http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/173311/9 seems to suggest Survival was announced the day before its first play, but http://www.muselive.com/madness-to-debut-next-monday-postponed-1344269940/ suggests there was over a week's notice for the Madness debut
