  1. Hahah, I will eventually. I've sort of restrained myself from making random covers now, since like I said, I'm trying to do covers of every song in chronological order. Maybe if I happen to discontinue that though (which I hope I won't), then I'll jump right into some The 2nd Law stuff.

  2. I thought it was great, my third favourite album after Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations. For what I didn't like about it, I posted that here.

  3. Even though the mix isn't finished, I just noticed that there's way too much treble and not enough bass. I'll fix that before I go.
  4. I've been working on a little project lately - I'm planning to do complete, detailed video covers of every single Muse song in chronological order. I've been progressively working on Sunburn, Muscle Museum and Fillip over the last two weeks, and I'll probably end up posting them one per week after I'm finished the entire album. For now, just because I'll be on vacation for a week or so tomorrow, I'll post what I've got of Sunburn so far in audio format [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] The mix isn't finished, but any critique would be welcomed if possible.
  5. Am I a fiend for not being incredibly fond of this cover? It just feels a bit... well, plain, in a way.
  6. Why thank you, that's good to know actually.

  7. Whoa, I think it's just the angle of the camera lens, but that makes it look like your guitar neck is curved! Alright, like I said I would do a week or two ago, here's my full cover of Keane's 'Bend & Break': [soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/rayfan9876-absolution/keane-bend-break-full-cover[/soundcloud] All parts and mixing/producing by me blablablah made in Logic Pro blablah. I didn't upload it to YouTube because, even though the song is in E, I decided to put it in F just because I could. I can hit the high Bb (originally A), just not as well as I'd like, and I usually only put my best stuff on YouTube. I wanted to push myself, even though those higher notes are a bit shaky - ahah, lets just say I'm being Keane on their early live performances. I'm not referring to the first chorus though, since I did that in falsetto. The rest of the song is normal. I also apologise, the vocals I also couldn't get fitting in the mix properly, so they might 'stand out,' or so to say. The instrumental mix though I think is my best yet (look at that sexy tight waveform)! EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK did Soundcloud do to my high frequencies? They sound all garbled and they lost their sacred glossiness. Bah. If you want to hear the proper mix, you can download a 320kbs version here, instead of the dreaded 128kbs Soundcloud version: http://www.mediafire.com/?94jlk2dqosg4kos
  8. This is his YouTube channel, so I had nothing to do with the intro. I personally try to avoid intros all together. And yes, I definitely have to work on my guitar. I've only been playing for a year or so, and I haven't exactly been a solid practiser. By myself again, I'm working on a cover of Keane's Bend & Break. Should have it up in the next few days.
  9. Where would you like me to dump the body, out of respectful curiosity? It feels odd asking the very person I'm about to brutally murder this, but it just is.

  10. Hey, are you trying to steal Hannah away from me? You bastard, I'll love you, stalk you, fuck you, and then kill you.

  11. I did a little Starlight collab with a classmate Ericson, though it was his project/idea. He's the one on drums and vocals (I know he's a little pitchy sometimes, but he hasn't really sung much before - I was actually surprised he could sing in the first place), and I'm doing the guitar, bass, piano/synth and production: eL7f7TyuzXA The arpeggiating synth part for me literally took 25 takes. I didn't put quite as much effort into the production as I usually would, but eh.
  12. Nice and precise! You have no idea how jealous I am of your XY pad. Did it come with the guitar, or did you ingrate it yourself? It's basically perfect, and you've got the vocal harmonies perfectly on sync with each other. I might point out though that the backup vocals probably should have been mixed a big quieter. What programme did you use? Then let's get on it! Did you have anything in mind?
  13. It's unfortunate. I was expecting at least 256-320 kbs when I started using the site, but in the end, its great UI is what's kept me around. I was aware of its emptiness, and it's been bugging me ever since I recorded it. I keep going back to listen to the original recording, and I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm doing wrong. Actually, YouTube's 720p and 1080p have the same audio quality: 156 kbs. Incrementally, every resolution lower is more compressed. Ahah, thanks!
  14. If I remember correctly, the limit is around a hundred hours, which is absolutely nothing to worry about, even in the longterm. Plus, you can embed it here. The only downside of SoundCloud I might add is that all the audio is compressed to 128 kb/s, which might make complex passages (especially with lots of drums) sound a little bit messy, but it's nothing to worry about.
  15. Alright, I made a big-production cover for Ruled by Secrecy (like 'Hyper Neurotic Music' I did in January). All parts are done/recorded myself with Logic Pro. [YT]TrHLgFXK888[/YT] I don't have much to say, other than that I personally think I could have sung the first half of the second chorus a bit better. Any critiques?
  16. Perhaps! I'm not sure I know you too well either, friend. I'm merely issuing a hello to you, as you seem like the kind of fellow whom deserves one.

  17. I didn't get a warning, that is, until I decided to make one more post....

  18. Ah, of course. Said flood of posts couldn't have been caused by any other idiot than yours truly.

  19. I'm surprised as well, you seem like a pretty steady poster. I guess it's only douche bags that get the visitor messages.
