I'm only encouraging off topic-ness but.......

What is a good camera for concerts? I've been searching for one to buy :erm:

Or is there a thread of some sort that names good cameras?

That one, no contest! Lots of us use them! They won't be around much longer though as it's a discontinued model. That is a VERY good price, I paid nearly £250 for mine back in October.

Took this with it last November. Disregard the shaking, that was due to crowd movement where i was on the barrier.

This is from the gig in Switzerland last month.

Make sure you watch these clips in HD ;)

works very well for me - hell I might get another one :)

but I swear someone's on a commision here :p

I am tempted to get the TZ10 tbh...

We should get a fee from Panasonic for every time we have recommended that camera

It looks so freaking awesome!

And besides the HD quality it is one of the only camera I know that has no bass distortion for the sound.

wow! just looked at some of your 02 pics - very impressive.

I'm not on flickr - can you store your pics there at full res?

And can friends download them - also at full res?

Thank you! I think some of my favourites are from Casino de Paris

I think they are stored full res and people should loose on quality if they download them.

I'm looking at the newest super-zoom (24 X optical zoom) Panasonic are about to release. It leaked earlier but they realised their mistake and removed it from their website so I can't show it to you!:LOL:

It's not a compact, it's a bridge camera but it has the same audio capture as the TZ7 plus twice the zoom, 1080p HD video (TZ7 has 720p), articulating screen (great for gigs!) and many other features!

There are two, the DMC-FZ40K. It's the DMC-FZ100K I'd be after (not sure what it'll be known as in the UK/Europe) and I think it's due for official release on the 21st of July.

This is where it'll be once the link goes live.

I'll be very tempted to buy it when it's dropped in price after a few months.

Paul basic Flickr is free but if you want to have more than 200 pics showing you need to get Flickr Pro (to be honest most Flickr users have a Pro account anyway) but it's only about £16 for a year.

Unlike photobucket etc there are no annoying adverts.

:stongue::stongue::yesey:

As it is NOT a DSLR there is, in theory, no reason why you'd not be permitted to take it to gigs. It is quite big I know but my God, you'd get the most amazing pics and videos with it!

You can take it in but Debs old camera looked a lot like that and she used to get hassle from security at the door (even though she was never refused to take it in)

I think I would need to have a propre look at it once it hits the shop and compare it with the TZ10 for overall pros and cons.

Yes, that is a good idea:)

I had the very first Panasonic FZ 'super-zoom', the FZ18..

One of my parrots broke the zoom lever which is why I no longer use it but I took it to the Muse Royal Albert Hall gig and had no probs there with it so I know I'll be very tempted by the FZ100K, or whatever they call it here!:)

aah, Royal Albert Cam, remeber it well :LOL:

Thats was a great one!

One step up from a bridge- a friend of mine got the Panasonic G1. Great photos but he wishes he'd bought a full size DSLR now. The lens prices for the G1 are fairly expensive.

I've been looking at TZ7 and TZ10 prices A LOT lately lol. Shit, the prices vary. A local camera shop to me has the TZ10 for £279.99 and is still advetising the £30 cashback form Panasonic (ending 31/08/10).
