Phill
cough cough tele customs do with their double binding hehe Good point. They look good!
james90
For what it's worth, the only thing that bothers me about my mirror'd guitar is the edge itself...It can dig into your arm after a while (it's not THAT sharp, but just a bit uncomfortable) Nothing to do with the contours. And I don't find my tele (which has no contours at all) uncomfortable to play at all....though that doesn't have binding.
cheddatom
I used to get a rreally bad rash on the inside of my wrist, just because the way I played the bass with a pick meant my arm rubbed. The bass was contoured, and smooth enough, it was my technique which made it uncomfortable.
Delorean
The SimS have some sort of "chrome wrap round". Does anybody know what it actually is? Would it look allright with the mirror?(if I have it on the back and sides and the mirror on the top).

If nothing goes wrong, it can look amazing!

Phill
What is it that it costs £350 just for covering sides and back ? they'd do the whole body, i don't think you can have an edge. it's expensive because it's pretty specialist and the equipment used is costly. Delorean
Phill, how heavy us your mirror guitar? What wood did you use for the body?
Phill
It's made of sapele, which is pretty similar to mahogany. Lighter though I think. It weighs just under 9lbs. About 4kg. That's with a chamber in the wood to lighten it up though. My black guitar on the other hand, weighs 3kg, about 6.5lbs.

Phill
you don't need string ferrules if you're using a locking tremolo.

I know what you mean, but by ferrules, I mean the 4 bolts that hold the neck and the body together. Thats how I thought they were called.
