Requiem1394
I like it a lot, but it certainly doesn't feel original. The guitar is pure ACDC and the melody of the chorus is straight up Madonna's "Express Yourself." Still, fun song.

I've never really heard the GaGa song...
-FutureStar-
Here's a cool video edited from amateur clips. Seemingly helps add to the energy of the song when it's like this... http://www.evergig.com/concerts/2015/03/15/Ulster_Hall_Belfast/Muse
Requiem1394
Didn't "Born this way" rip that one off, anyways? I've never really heard the GaGa song... Yep. I had forgotten about Born this Way since the first time I heard that one, I also thought of Express Yourself. And now all I hear during the solo is Sweet Home Alabama's solo. Man, I was so digging this song, but now it's just feeling like a mashup of other songs.
Mattestro
The chorus falsetto sounds like Ronald McDonald...
matthijs
Listening to it again made me realise how much the solo is influenced (or seems to be influenced) by Jack White.
Hopix
Listening to it again made me realise how much the solo is influenced (or seems to be influenced) by Jack White. Lol, I was reading the comments when Reapers first hit, and there must have been about 8 apparent influences.
matthijs
For me it's just the solo, no idea about the rest of the song... Edited March 16, 2015 by Matthijs
Zemonstar
Sounds a lot like the Power Rangers theme song...I'm not convinced I like it yet.
Wickerman
I reserve judgement for when I get to hear the actual/studio version, since I think a few stuff is improvised. But I don't really like what I hear, bloody hate the chorus!
-FutureStar-
The more I listen, the more I like it. That chorus has been stuck in my head all day... Also, makes a change that YouTube comments on the recordings are super positive!

AJUltra
This song title always make me relate back to Mass Effect. Maybe this album is about how we are drones to the Prothean race through indoctrination:D
Arcanom
Listening to it again made me realise how much the solo is influenced (or seems to be influenced) by Jack White. I cant really hear the jack white... Too clear for Jack White. Yes octave high solo is jack white signature but the playing is just toooooo clear for his taste. He would have used shitloads of ghost notes, muted notes and much much more aggresive picking. I wish if Matt played a solo like that at the album. But either way its definetly NEW way of playing Matt. I cant say that I didnt love it

musedan
I think I am going to love the final polished song on the album. I love the 2nd half of the solo that leads into the chorus. Yeah the outro sounds a lot like Freedom and that takes away from it a little bit for me. Could be better, could be a lot worse
cornfellow
After several listens, still not liking it. Also The key change during the solo is quite face palmy .

cornfellow
I still think a lot of that solo was improv, excited to hear it on album Perhaps. It does sound improv . But I can also imagine him doing this improv style solo on the recording. I would be surprised if they key change was not the album bc that would be over the top improv ! It definitely gets wanky, but I love it when the solo continues over the chorus with no vocals, probably my favourite part. Not sure if thats what you mean by the key change or not. FabriPav
Love Is becoming a killing field There's a crosshair locked on my heart With no recourse And there's no one behind the wheel Hellfire You're walking in the crossfire Drones! Drones! We will rise in the sea Bodies on the shore Take off ************ Now I am ready to know [Verse 2] War Watch us to **** here I don't think I can handle the truth And it's just too cold And we're all expendable ********** They're trying to get around the ******** Drones! Drones! [Chorus] We will rise in the sea Bodies on the shore To become reapers and horsemen Now I am ready to know We will rise in the sea Bodies on the shore Take off ************ Now I am ready to know Too much thought control Bodies on the shore To become reapers and horsemen Now I am ready to know
