Travelling by yourself on the plane shouldn't be a problem as long as you follow instructions as far as boarding and customs go.

As far as coming over here, just make sure that you have an itinerary. Basically, write a list of where you will be each day and if possible at what times as well as a list of contact numbers that are important (yours, your parents/relatives). Hold on to a copy and give a few copies to relatives and friends so that in the rare event anything goes wrong, there's at least some idea where you are.

Also, have you booked accommodation?

Thanks for the advice, I just typed one up now, though it's likely to get changed quit a bit before December ;) I haven't booked any accommodation yet, but I've found a relative I should be able to stay with, so I'm a little less "on my own" now, thankfully. Any advice about "the pit"? I've heard the horror stories of people getting bruised and battered trying to get to the front, but I think I'll still have a go at getting to the barrier

Originally, I had planned on waiting, but seeing as the pre-sale message came up here, I took that as a sign that Australia was as close to N.Z. as they were gonna' get :( And anyway, they only ever come here for festivals, and I wanna' see their Unsustainable Tour set-up
Ah, fair enough. It's not the Unsustainable tour set up coming (as all the news suggests), will definitely be the Pyramid stage they used on their US/UK tour.

A relative is always a great choice. ;)

Trust me, the front barrier's at Muse are fine. When I went in 2007 (age 17), I went with someone barely taller than 5 foot and we were good. If you're there early (like 6-8am), you'll pretty much get a choice where you want on the barrier. I'm sure those of us up the front will likely help you out if anything goes wrong. Moshpits are generally friendly, even when they are rough. :)

Only thing to add is drink water and use the toilet before going in. You may get exhausted.

I bought my tickets on Wednesday, my first Muse concert and my first GA concert!!! I am so excited, I almost cried when we bought the tickets. My question is how early do you reckon I should line up to get to the barrier? I am willing to queue in the morning! I can't believe this is really happening haha I am so excited!!!!!! :D

what time does the concert actually start? have i missed something? i have already bought my tickets but i haven't seen any in-depth info about this gig anywhere, only the info on frontier and ticketek.

The gig times were on the pre-sale site. From memory I think doors open at 7:30? Have a look tomorrow to be sure.

I may be there as early as 6-7am in hope of barrier. I got there at 8am last year and I made it on the barrier. If you do get there that early, bring sunscreen. Really.

I bought a ticket for the G/A through the Muse.mu pre-sale for this show, and I have to say; I'm beyond excited! Just a couple of little issues though; I'll be just under 17 years old when the show's on, and this'll be the first concert I've ever been to. The problem is, not only will I be going to the concert by myself, but I'll be traveling to Australia by myself (I live in New Zealand). Does anyone have any tips or advice? It could be helpful for others too!

I'm in nearly the same situation as you, 'cept I'll be just over 17 :chuckle: I'm not sure if I'm going by myself or if my family's coming but if I go by myself I'd by staying at a relative's house too.

Dead Star has suddenly become a thing over the last year or so. I must've missed something. It wouldn't be on the top 30 songs I'd wanna hear.

The last year, what since they started playing it again? I've always thought it was one of their best and heaviest songs, I love the Christmas present video from 2008, have you seen it? Not saying you have to like it but :erm:

How rough are the sydney GA crowds? This is my first time in GA and I'm a little scared haha

Weren't very rough last tour, also if your're planning on being on the barrier it's easier as you don't get pushed around as much, and you use it to support you.

Next thing you know we'll be catching the same flight or having a pre-show feed at the same McDonalds or something, hahaha

  • 2 weeks later...

For anyone who is curious, got a a reply from Fronteir Touring:

"There are currently no plans for any additional shows but this may change in the lead up to the tour subject to demand. Keep an eye out on our social networking pages and our website where we post updates to tours as they happen."

I still expect another Sydney show tbh as the first is sold out
