Hopix
What baffles me the most is that he apparently thinks Interlude is better than Undisclosed Desires. Id agree. Interlude is also better than Sober and Guiding Light.
Flor Amarillo
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call two cop-out choices. No, i just think they're totally useless. What baffles me the most is that he apparently thinks Interlude is better than Undisclosed Desires. Right. Interlude is a great introduction for Hysteria and generally the second part of Absolution... I don't like Intro for AP and Prelude is horrible for Survival. Flor Amarillo
They're not exactly songs though are they? Muse recorded Prelude and Intro as normal songs, as though they are all bad intro... that is the problem
Dee3Dee
Counting Interlude etc. as songs is like Muse counting their jams as songs on the setlist = stupid.
HannahG123
Why all the prelude hate. I remember the first time I heard it at survivals radio debut and thought it was the perfect build up. I can't decide if its beautiful or hilariously silly

kueller
It's awesome though It sounds like something I'd hear as backing music at a Disney theme park, which you've conveniently just visited.

It's not one song per album, I'm asking for the 5 songs you least like from all the albums.
Hopix
Counting Interlude etc. as songs is like Muse counting their jams as songs on the setlist = stupid. If it takes up a section of time and is distinguishable from anything else, it's a song imo.
kueller
Intro arguably cannot count but I do like Interlude as a standalone piece even if its purpose is just to connect two songs.
DifferentPerson
Interlude and Prelude I would count as separate 'songs' although they're not really proper songs as they don't contain any singing... but Intro may as well have just been a part of AP on the album. So is Isolated System not a proper song? If the band consider Prelude and Interlude to be separate entities from the songs they precede, then I think it's fair game to put them on lists like this one. FabriPav
They don't flow that much on the album though. Interlude leads well to Hysteria but I wish it ended while Hysteria started, not abruptly.
Hat
So is Isolated System not a proper song? Well Isolated System has singing, not just from Matt. But the idea that proper songs need vocals is nonsense.
DifferentPerson
But the idea that proper songs need vocals is nonsense. Why? I don't think any less of tracks without vocals, I just think it's wrong to call them 'songs' because that implies there's singing involved. Maybe I have the wrong definition of the word song. DifferentPerson
So a 10 minute instrumental track isn't a song? Well, no. Not to me. But it doesn't mean I couldn't listen to it and enjoy it.
