Maneachicken
T2L definitely but TR, really? Both Uprising and the album were heavily promoted imo, and then there was the USoE thing. Not to mention Twilight. TR was promoted more without a doubt but I don't think it's surprising popularity was fully capitalised upon. NSC wasn't really pushed though in all honesty. Edit: The May release was fairly expected.

Maneachicken
Which is usually considered a good thing. I agree, it's great if your 'product' is surprisingly more popular than anticipated. My point is just that the people in charge of getting the most out of the 'product' could have capitalised on this popularity - though for all we know Muse may have said not to. apoco123
As far as i'm concerned, 2015 is the year of Muse for me, no matter when or how the album is released.
Tim59
Muse definitely make a decent amount of money from their tours. And I think a January single is too optimistic. I'd say mid-late March if we're looking at a May release for the album.

frozenbanana
Personally reckon they'll release one of the slightly more mental songs first (February sounds legit) and then follow that up with a single a few weeks later. As for promotion, where I was am fairly sure Live at Rome got more advertising and billboard space than T2L did
FabriPav
Why is nobody talking about the fact that an even organizer let slip the official release month of the album? Come on Musers Omg that means the album will be prog metal!!!

ryanp16
I seem to recall reading some article years ago that claimed they make about $60,000 from an arena show.
serpentsatellite
Is that net, though? And it's really area specific, because they have said multiple times they barely break even in the US.
ryanp16
According to this they grossed €76 million on 63 shows. Not sure what year it is, guessing 2010. http://www.forbes.com/pictures/eeel45ehmg/18-muse-35-million-tie/
Maneachicken
They wouldn't tour if they didn't make enough money on it, regardless of spend on stage and staff. I guess what I'm saying is they can't tour if it's... ...Unsustainable.

WeirdF
It's not really about the calculable net gain from shows though is it? The point is that a massive part of the appeal of Muse is their live shows and it adds to their popularity and hence more records are sold. FabriPav
Define "it"... Anyway some people don't seem to think of all the part of money that goes to promoters, managers and the huge production team.
Maneachicken
It's quite well documented that record sales are pittance for most artists nowadays, adding to that the increased volume of music that is now streamed instead. Muse still need to make money. With a live show with as big a draw as their's is, regardless of spend, we would be kidding ourselves if we didn't think the touring was a decent earner. Album wise if they're not back in the studio next Monday then I think we will be waiting till the new year.
Citizen_Eraser
Numbers that Muse have claimed to be very misleading since it only takes their income into account. Yeah, exactly why it stated gross. Which doesn't include costs or taxes but do you really think it costs Muse 1.2 mil to put on one show?

I think that considering the sheer size of the set up, and the huge amount of people they were hiring to help with set up, that it would add up very, very quickly.
