Xvm27
All the lyrics for Plug In Baby I've seen say "...crucifies my enemies when I'm tired of giving..." but if you listen closely to the chorus in the studio version, Matt says "...crucifies my enemies when I'm tired of living..." why? Â Also, when performing live, why does he say "I've exposed your lies, YEAH baby"? during Plug In Baby and "No one's GOING TO take me alive" instead of "gonna take me alive"? Why the enounciation? Â lol just curious
kueller
First one I haven't checked, but the other two are just random live changes. The same way Matt will play some extra notes on guitar or something.
LyraSilvertongue
Matt changes the lyrics to a lot of songs when he sings them live. Bliss and Map of the Problematique are two others that spring to mind.
Spectrum IV
In Sunburn, he changes "our horizons" to "my horizon". It's probably just there to add variety to the song, like the octave leap on "Behind a broken frame", or the intros he used to play on guitar. Killer Rabbit
Any band or artist worth a shit is one that will change something about their songs when they play them live vs. what the studio version sounds like. Â That's just my opinion.
weedkill
Yeah. There are some lyrics that have meaningful changes (like "since i've met you -> since i've lost you) but asking why he sings "going to" instead of "gonna" or why he inserts a random YEAH between words... I sincerely doubt it's for some special purpose.
DrummingGuitar
Another reason he might change some lyrics, like for sunburn, is that originally it might have been written the way he sings it, but in the studio they might have tweaked the lyrics a little. So when he sings live he sings it the way he originally wrote it. Just a thought, idk if it is true or not.

Jobby
Seems unlikely. Â I'm pretty sure Starlight's original lyrics were "Our trials and tribulations" instead of "Our hopes and expectations" which is why he chooses to sing the former sometimes. That's the only example I can find though.
