What, I wasn't going to film every piece of gear I own...but I can do that if you want....

whoa you should exploit dat dere natural testosteron levelz in da gym, from now on i will imagine you as a bear

in other news we are moving and i got a huge room just for guitar stuff and chillin but when i clap in there i hear the shittiest reverbs ever, so it is crap, it will get a bit better probably with furniture and stuff but i actually do not want too much stuff in there because of shitty resonations from the brootal volume of my single output tube monster.

What kind of floor do you have?

And have you got one of these then?

I'm actually considering putting a set of those in my Marshall, just to see how much the headroom will increase. It's 50 watts RMS, but it puts out about 105 watts peak

Make some sexy diffusors. They had a guide in Tape Op a while ago which was very cheap and actually looked cool. Otherwise, book cases?

Also pics of your new floor

I don't remember those tubes...

Can i just pop in that in place of a 6V6? (i have a JJ 6V6 in that amp)

There is no floor in there yet (just concrete) it will be finished around late summer i think, they started laying piles this week so probably i can post floorporn soon.

In my room there will be some greyish wood which have a potential to turn out horrible but it looked quite alternative on pics, i liked it. I wanted some pirate ship style strip floor in the guitar room but probably my parents will mess that one up.

edit: and yeah i would fill that room up with diffusors and stuff but i am not sure about how hard i can mess up that room

I think those are a new design, but I'm not sure. It's in the KT88 family apparently, so I don't think you could use it in place of a 6V6

A cheap way out is to buy a package of packing blankets of of eBay. I've used that method for years, (now augmented with throw pillows from an old couch!) and it works great for home recordings.

Be very careful replacing EL34's with KT-88's. Some amps can handle it, others... Not so much.

Here's some info from Guy Hedrick:

One of my customers was advised by a popular tube supplier that he could run KT88 tubes directly in place of his EL-34 tubes, and safely bias them as high as 80ma per tube. WRONG!!! From a tube-only perspective, this might fly, but your clean head room goes right out the window!

Now, let's look at this from the amp's perspective for a moment... 80ma (times 4 tubes) = 320ma total idle current, times 450VDC plate voltage = 144 WATTS! Do you think it is healthy for a 100 watt amp design to be trying to idle at 144 watts? This is before you even hit a note? Nobody would!

The power transformer literally ran so hot you could have fried an egg on it! This was a bad situation, and all from some guy giving out advice without thinking about it. You have to be careful where you get information!

ahh I should've said I'm already running KT88s in it.

The amp currently doesn't have THAT much clean headroom, but I don't know why exactly. It breaks up around 9 o clock (on the bright channel anyway... I rarely use the normal channel)

It doesn't seem to have any issues with how it's setup currently. The plate voltage is a fair bit higher in this amp as well (490v). Most 70's 50 watts were about 100v less.

I adore this guitar:

I have it set up in Open A and it gets used mostly for dirty blues. Really dirty blues.

Bit of black keys? I've been looking for one similar to that for the very same reason.

Lots of Black Keys. I've actually started using this guitar to write with, because having it in open A makes it really easy to play in the style I'm going for, which is early Black Keys.

Got your eye on any in particular?
