No, it was the final version with the full band. Sounds sort of similar though, like it might be the same rhythm, I think. Honestly, it was hard to tell at the time and it's even harder to remember now so don't take my word on that. I've never seen that before though. Fake? I wanna say it is but that bit of chatter at the end actually has me in two minds. The title and channel name are kinda fishy too. Must be fake though, surely

Um...I was joking It's impossible to give any kind of decent description 'cause we heard so little of it and it was pretty poor quality. The tiny part that we heard did sound fairly heavy and quite stripped back (3-piece) though, I guess.

The amount of times these lyrics (or variants of them) have been posted in this thread... Still the odd bit that's uncertain but I think that's pretty much it.

It'll be live on BBC3 I think, if you have access to that channel (if not, just Google 'BBC3 live stream' and I'm sure you'll be able to find one pretty easily). If all else fails, vids will be up pretty quickly I imagine.

It sounded like a cross between Dead Star, Showbiz, Micro Cuts, Hyper Music and Futurism. #musefancomparisons Tom said something along the lines of "Norwich will enjoy that" or "Norwich is gonna get something good" so yeah I think it's fairly likely something will get played, probs The Handler.

'Drones' discussion thread (part 3): Show me your war ass
Jobby replied to FabriPav's topic in Songs & Releases
Yeah, that'd make sense as well, considering it looked like a big studio with a camera setup and (apparently) there were instruments knocking about.- 10,087 replies

I'm guessing if Tom's up late listening to The Handler while sorting out a bunch of techcical shit (visuals? not really sure), he might have been finalising the live setup for it to be ready for Big Weekend. Or maybe he just likes it and fancied listening to it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯- 10,087 replies

Jobby replied to FabriPav's topic in Songs & Releases
It was only faint, you couldn't really hear much. Just sounded like standard rock really. Sounded very 3-piece, guitar and drums most prevalent. Couldn't hear any vocals or bass. Tomorrow innit? Edit: Well, Saturday. So technically tomorrow.- 10,087 replies

Was that The Handler being played then? Don't tease me if you can't please me, Kirky. Did he say he's working on visuals for Norwich? Possibly Handler confirmed for Big Weekend then.- 10,087 replies

Well then the three of us will drag this hype train to it's destination, strong-man style. I'm not even that hyped for the album anymore, I've just got nothing better to do- 10,087 replies

As much as I'm excited for that part as well, the quote specifically says 'screams' so I assume it's not referring to that.

'Drones' discussion thread (part 3): Show me your war ass
Jobby replied to FabriPav's topic in Songs & Releases
To be fair, as much as I don't like U2 and want Muse to avoid their sound as much as possible, the comparison to One doesn't have me worried. Instrumentally, Muse doing something along those lines could be quite cool, especially with the prospect of Hendrix-esque guitar playing that reviewer mentioned.- 10,087 replies

Same, I don't think I've listened to any of the others since 2013. Genuinely wank album. Still pissed off I payed £50 for the deluxe version

Distorted voice confirmed then? Good to know it won't just be those IG hooligan shouts.

I'll post in here just for ease of access: Dead Inside - 4:23 [Drill Sergeant] - 0:21 Psycho - 5:16 Mercy - 3:51 Reapers - 5:59 The Handler - 4:33 [JFK] - 0:54 Defector - 4:32 Revolt - 4:05 Aftermath - 5:48 The Globalist - 10:07 Drones - 2:51 Total runtime - 52:40 Drones is longer than I expected, I thought it was just supposed to be that short little verse NME posted? A lot of people will probably be asleep at this time, remember.- 10,087 replies

It's not that nonsensical, it's just a bit weird. NME could be wrong but it sounds right to me.

Favourite song on Black Holes and Revelations?
Jobby replied to Mattestro's topic in Songs & Releases
I honestly think we might've heard the last of TAB at this point, unfortunately. Matt really seemed to struggle with it towards the end of the Resistance Tour. His voice has improved since then though so I guess you never know. -

Rotates between Map, Assassin and TAB for me. Same for the #1 spot in my top ten. -
One of the guys who was there said the riff was sounchecked and (I think) then the whole song was soundchecked a bit later. Everything he said seemed pretty legit. Then again, I think something about Sing For Absolution being sounchecked was mentioned as well which seems a bit dubious. IIRC, I think more than one source mentioned TSP being soundchecked but I didn't see any of the others. So, in summary, not 100% confirmed Doesn't seem too unlikely though. It was requested on the UK tour a fair bit and when a fan asked Matt if they'd play it in the US, he said something along the lines of "We'll see."

I reckon TSP's definitely a possibility. They soundchecked it a couple of times at the Mayan and they're aware some fans have requested it. I'd be more than happy with TSP, CE and Assassin as the rarities. Not too fussed about CE but TSP would be great fun and Assassin would make my life. Hyper Music and Dead Star would probably fit the festival as well but I dunno how rarity-mad they're thinking of going with set so I'm trying to keep my expectations low.

I've heard 'babe' for a while tbh so it doesn't really come as a surprise to me. Doesn't really matter to me either, as long as the song sounds good.

Just their interpretation, to my knowledge. Hence the 'All the seas have risen up' mistake for Supremacy a few years ago.

Same. It fits the sound of that part of the song, even if it's a bit cliche/cheesy. Shit, Knights has horses and lasers on it.
