  1. Probably infinitely more entertaining than the actual video. Psycho and Dead Inside were a double A-side but that's not an unrealistic shout I guess. Might not make too much sense with the album coming out so soon though.
  2. Reapers could quite easily be put out with no announcement considering it won't be a 'proper' single intended for radio play. It'd just be an extra promo thing to get fans hyped during the final run-up to release.
  3. Nope, wouldn't really make any sense. Releasing a DVD from the last album when you're trying to promote the new album? Plus, Live At Rome already sold like shit so releasing a second DVD from the same era would just be stupid.
  4. If they stripped back some of the unnecessary, distracting production, focused more and their performance and dropped some of the boring songs (or reinvigorated them and played them with some energy instead of just going through the motions) they could still be in with a shout at best live band. Manchester Academy was the best gig I've ever been to (bar Leeds Fest '11, but that was for sentimental reasons) 'cause it was just the band and the fans having fun, no extra frills.
  5. I don't think I'll be let down by it. I really like the fundamental components of the song (the chorus melody, the lyrics, the pre-chorus riff, the tapping sections) which will all be pretty much the same. It's obviously not gonna sound as heavy or beefy as it is live, especially the outro, but that's only natural really so it's to be expected. The only things I'm hoping for that might change are the solo, the robot vocoder bits (which have actually been confirmed, iirc?) and the distorted 'Drones!' voice during the pre-choruses.
  6. It's at quite an awkward rhythm to play, Matt comes in at quite a random time on the studio version. I don't really notice or blame him when it changes live, I expected it to happen when I first heard the song. I rarely time it exactly right when I play it.
  7. Couple of apparently reliable inside sources (assuming that the journalist and Jessica's friend are different people?) have said Reapers is set to release on Friday. I'm assuming it'll be as a sort if promo/fan service thing like Psycho as opposed to a 'proper' single.
  8. That'd be great, I'll be out shopping all day so I'd probs miss it otherwise. I'm thinking around 5-7pm UK time though, unfortunately (for me) I'm wondering how they'll release it, just audio or maybe a lyric video? The latter would be decent.
  9. Lots of things have been/will have been recorded this year though so expecting Hyper Music is a bit unfounded. It'd be pretty meh if it was that anyway imo.
  10. The transition into Psycho was good but it could easily be done with just about any Drop-D Muse song, like Stockholm. I just feel like a good opener needs to be quite grand and give that feeling of "We're here, bitches." Reapers isn't really that kind of song imo.
  11. It looks considerably better than Starlight live so I'd be happy for it to replace that. Still find the chorus on the studio version to be boring/annoying as fuck though.
  12. Might seem weak through videos but it's pretty beefy and fun when you're actually there, drags on for a bit though. As for videos though, aside from the vocals, Big Weekend was pretty good.
  13. He tends to play the open D-string or let it ring during a lot of the build-up to the big riff in Reapers, which is sort of the same thing he does in the first few seconds of Yes Please, similar rhythm too. Other than that though, the two have different chords (Matt plays seemingly pretty random ones during Reapers).
