  1. Didn't buy the last two and don't plan on buying this one.
  2. This was an interview from 2015 that I had trouble finding back in the day and just rediscovered on apple music. So ofc I ripped it and here are the parts where Matt actually speaks (Don't expect any more detail than Matt has given in the past though) http://picosong.com/wf7xG/
  3. Yes. But that's not what we're talking about. Why do you think I've put emphasis on "new" like 5 times? This was the question that you replied to:
  4. But it’s literally just the name of the label. They don’t even call it New Retrowave themselves.
  5. So you agree that “New” Retrowave isn’t a thing?
  6. But isn’t that exactly what’s Retrowave is? When I google your description I get the exact same sentence to describe “Retrowave”. http://synthwave.wikia.com/wiki/Retrowave NewRetroWave seems to simply be a label that releases Retrowave music. They themselves even describe it as Retrowave without the “new”. https://newretrowave.com
  7. And regarding the previous discussion: This album felt a lot like T2L 2.0 to me, but honestly I feel like these songs are connected through soundscape a lot more than T2L. They all have clear 80s influences and a focus on synth (or synth-like) melodies. By the sounds of it at least two more tracks will follow this theme, and even that is enough to have a more coherent album than T2L.
  8. Yeah or at least that their focus was on 3-4 minutes tracks. Might be one or two exceptions.
  9. Yeah especially the last two. Straight up saying it sounds like New Born? Jesus. So far this album has been very promising in terms of trying new things and not just doing Muse by numbers, but at least 3 songs sound like Muse almost intentionally copied themselves. Oh well, we'll see how it turns out. I'll probably end up loving at least one of them. Btw I can't remember the exact wording but I think he was talking about "ideas" rather than actual melodies.
  10. If you think Radiohead are actively going for inaccessibility, you’re pretentiously mistaken.
  11. Man, I wish Muse could write a pop song as good as Paramore.
  12. It definitely leaves something to be desired, but that might be because it makes me expect a chorus as good as A Little Respect, and it just doesn't deliver on that. Nice soundscape, not terrible lyrics, and it's nice to hear that Muse can still show a LITTLE constraint. It might be very...digitally augmented so to speak, but it's still nice and mellow and doesn't go over the top like every fucking Muse song these past few years.
  13. One song was heavy out of the three they had initially recorded. They’ve had several recording sessions since and it’s very likely they still haven’t released the heavy one. They’re not releasing them in order of recording date.
  14. Matt has been listening to Erasure I take it.
  15. Huh? Doesn’t sound like a big deal to me.
