I hear them panned to the left. To me it's most audible during "I hail from the darker side" around 1.30.

More like it’s a video that the band has minimum involvement in so they just get Matt to film some green screen shots in a car. It’s supposed to be some sort of story as well.

I think your first comment on Revolt was about how it reminded you of Showbiz. Nothing but positivity from there on out. EDIT: Just checked and yeah, I think this was your first comment: http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?p=10902046#post10902046

Or it's album version vs acoustic version.

Honestly every damn movie with a big cast is likely to have a similar poster. It's the way they've been done for decades, and any likeness to Ready Player One is pretty obvious coincidences for any Muse fan. The shades? Matt has been wearing those for ages. The colour scheme? Obviously taken from the whole synthwave style.

I hear the guitar just playing single downstroke chords at 1:00 for example.
-
I definitely hear a guitar. You'd know better than me though.

Yeah that's what I thought too. But fine, I'll add Glorious.
-
Aw shit, haven't seen you in years.

Honestly I am here because of how much I've loved Muse's output in the past and how much I still love at least a few songs every album, but I could never rate an album where I have no interest in...6 of its 10 songs.

You can't have a best Monty performance without Matt on piano!

Do you wanna be the first?

Matt talked about that in an interview a month or so ago, saying it's basically directions that the songs could have taken but they eventually decided against. When they (as we as most other artists) write and record, there are always versions that are scrapped in the end, because a decision has to be made. This could mean a lot of things though. Arcane Roots are actually doing the exact same thing right now. Just to clarify, The Dark Side was never said to be heavy. That's just a conclusion a lot of fans drew because Matt talked about a heavy song and The Dark Side had a "heavy" title.

I will keep updating it whenever I find a new comparison.
-
Comparisons made to Muse songs: Assassin, Bliss, Darkshines, Dead Inside, Easily, Endlessly, Eternally Missed, Exogenesis: Overture, Fillip, Forced In, Glorious, Madness, Map of the Problematique, Micro Cuts, Panic Station, Plug In Baby, Popcorn (cover I know), Showbiz, Space Dementia, Take A Bow, The Gallery Comparisons made to other songs/artists/stuff: Night Ranger - Sister Christian, Gorillaz - Stylo, Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill, CHVRCHES - Lies, Pink Floyd, Ultravox, La Roux, Tron, Retrowave/Synthwave. Comparisons made to Muse ALBUMS: Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes & Revelations, The Resistance, The 2nd Law. Other: "Sounds almost Indian"

I feel the complete opposite. Dom, in interviews, has given me the impression that he enjoys playing the simpler stuff. And we must have heard different things because I've heard he prefers to avoid stuff like Assassin because of how tired he gets. Well it's a lot more accurate than Micro Cuts and some of the other comparisons being made!

I’d say it’s clear they went for the modern synthwave style rather than actual 80s movies. The colour scheme is a huge hint. But if you just mean using drawn faces for the cover, yeah I guess. Well there are only seven covers to check.

80s film covers didn’t look anything like that though.

Those lyrics are truly terrible imo. Among Matt’s worst.

They have songs called Uprising and Resistance. Propaganda sounds right up their alley.

Yeah I don’t think there’s any artist out there who enjoys the wait between finishing an album and releasing it.
