We got a tour and what not, what are the campus' music facilities like, and the surrounding areas venues? Im thinking of starting a band if I end up going there, fingers crossed. ADAM Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 No - Im at Lincoln Uni - Brayford Campus. Lincoln is a great little city. It has various music venues ranging from the small pubs with 50year old men playing covers to the engine shed which has all the big bands playing. There are private rehearsal rooms and recording studios around the city. But the uni's studios are pretty primitive.....theyre gettign better, but theyre nothing like what I used at Leeds uni. Thus said, Leeds uni is very strict with who goes in there....Lincoln you can book it whenever for however long. Chris in Deaf Havana, an upcoming screamo band, is doing the same course as me and he's been extensively touring and has featured many times in kerrang magazine. Im in Industry and I tour quite a lot. Dancing Lotus is a Lincoln based band who have been played on Radio 1... So for a small city it's pretty good and there have been successful musicians emerging from it.... the_man361 Posted February 20, 2009 Share Posted February 20, 2009 also, to answer that question a little more thoroughly.. yeh adam goes to uni in lincoln, singer and me (guitarist) go to uni in leeds (university of leeds). we also do all the mixing/recording. bassist goes to uni in leeds too, but leeds metropolitan university. REPEAT!! When you're tired and waiting for a plane!!! ...t'was a mind-fuck! But yeah it will be an awesome weekend and it's really cheap for what it is too!
