Alesi08
So the Wikipedia page for the films says Muse will perforeme The Bare Necessities together with Florence Watch. And there is this tweet:
serpentsatellite
Might be more believable if the grammar and phrasing in the entry were better? Probably true.

serpentsatellite
Maybe this is the direction Muse will take after swearing extensively on the last album, and probably his kid hearing it...
Jobby
I mean, a Florence/Muse teamup doesn't exactly sound outlandish on paper. In fact, it's something I've kinda wanted tbh. But...for The Bare Necessities? Ah fuck it, why not.
serpentsatellite
The question is... is there enough time for them to replace The Handler with this in the sets, with Florence's parts being played on the PA...
Destroya
It will be the best artist they've collaborated with so I'm looking forward to hearing it if it is true!
serpentsatellite
I would probably be more interested in a collaboration that involved original material. Or material not about dancing bears. Maybe.
Hat
That reminds me. Second time I need to be told this but what happened with that collaboration with the French singer? Wasn't that supposed to be out in January?
serpentsatellite
I never heard anything about it again. And being French, you think it would have gotten more attention with those rabid fans. Or it came out, and their contribution was so miniscule it flew under the radar? Like those two guitar strums in that Kimbra song; except media made a HUGE deal about that. Hat
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstellaires here we go. But no Muse here either. Disappointments all around.

Like those two guitar strums in that Kimbra song; except media made a HUGE deal about that. No, it happened that apparently wasn't any collaboration at all. Some rumors said Farmer contacted Muse about it and they refused, but it's a bit unlikely in my opinion. The very true fact is when during some interview they asked Chris if that collaboration was still on, he was baffled and asked: "Mylène who?!" and claimed that they've never heard of her So, yeah, maybe it was all a fake. Wikipedia says the song 'The Bare Necessities' will be sung by Bill Murray, not Muse + Florence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jungle_Book_(2016_film) It says nothing about Muse and Florence At first I was intrigued myself, but then I highly doubt they would make a collaboration for that kind of cover. Well, in any case, that makes me wonder where and why everything started.
Destroya
Tom Hanks did not sing the songs his character 'sung' in Toy Story (although Pixar technically was a 2nd/3rd party then). But then again, these articles are so poorly written it's obviously not going to happen. Edited January 7, 2016 by Destroya

I saw some stuff on Twitter talking about the rumor. It's also not uncommon that the character's voice actor would sing the song in the film, and there'd be a different version sung by a big artist in the credits, etc. Highly unlikely they'd have a female sing the man-bear's part in the film. Unless Florence's voice is supposed to be used for Mowgli. Female voices are used for portraying young boys all the time
kueller
I'm just picturing the fuzzy bass and shouty singing to this song.
Zepp
Farmer claimed her love for Muse on several occasions. I recall her saying that "Muse" was "a great artist" on TV and mentioning that her favourite song was Guiding Light. :-]

Guiding Light should be the national anthem of every country.
