ADAM
can anyone recommend me nice ear plugs? haha all the ones i got arnt too good dont the cheapo foam ones work? They work a treat for me! And when playing live I use my IEMs Ultimately youd want ear plugs that are moulded to your ears - but theyre very expensive - so expanding foam is the next best! the_man361
shure sell nice moulded ear plugs iirc, i used to have a pair and they were very comfy, better than foam but it depends on the shape/size of your ear

I've had a lot of success with the foamies! But yeah, if i had the money then I would go to an audiologist and have my ears moulded!

lpdrummer
Thank you! hahaha, I just grabbed my Dad's 20" Floor tom. Its got sound reinforcement rings and a Remo pinstripe, so it sounds dead enough to be a concert bass EDIT: Thanks for the ratings on them if that was you! I appreciate the feedback and comments! Niles
yeah I agree but surely a Pearl 4 ply maple will sound the same as Tama 4 ply maple... Not really, because Pearl 4-ply is alot thicker than Tama 4-ply. There are also bearing edge shapes, distinct manufacturing process and that that other stuff I mentioned to consider. Niles
So... your point is that when you compare two different drums by different standards each they sound the same? Nice.
Assassin231
So... your point is that when you compare two different drums by different standards each they sound the same? Nice. if they are both the same wood, roughly the same ply/thickness etc: they will sound similar yes.
