To be fair sonically it would fit with what we've heard on Simulation Theory so far. I still think songs like Assassin, Agitated, Apocalypse Please etc popped up so frequently last tour because they fit with the direction of what the band were going for on Drones. So it wouldn't surprise me to see some songs like Invincible or possibly even Sing for Absolution come up a few times on the next tour. Also think if they do bring a brass section out with them (the talk of performers makes me think they might) then Panic Station could end up a staple again as well.

Same. And a full audio of Propaganda to hear what that "propapapapapropaganda" bit sounds like properly.

Have always wanted to see Invincible live but accepted that it's probably never coming back - mostly because even back in '08 Matt seemed to struggle with the ending even a half step down I adORE MK. Such a good song in my opinion and the spidery main riff is amazing. That said, I was never 100% sure of it live other than that one performance that we got as a Christmas present.

Really like that snippet of Propaganda tbh. Hoping for a big guitar part at some point in it though.

Muse on Later...with Jools Holland on 2nd & 6th Oct
heyjackk replied to gtruscott's topic in Muse In the Media
Christ that sound mix Also, did Chris actually use the little keyboard thing on his bass during SH? -
I think the Follow Me comparisons to Dead Star literally only came from Chris' belting in the chorus of both songs live haha. Agreed. Especially after hearing that Dig Down version. Have always thought I'd love to hear some kind of stripped back versions of songs like Sing for Absolution, Hoodoo etc. Even Madness or something.

Dig Down sounds awesome. Pressure sounds great except the fact that Chris was doing the "pressure building" bits. If he's gonna do em he's gotta put a lot more into them than that -
Really enjoying the song. Video was bizarre though
-
New bass for chris. Half bass, half keyboard apparently??

Really like it! TDS had my hopes raised for the album but this has really kicked me into hype-mode haha.

Holy shit Pressure is actually awesome. I'm officially hyped for the rest of this album.

Could only find this one so far that's like half the song. Still sounds great from what's there. Matt playing the synth line between the chorus and second verse is a cool touch.
-
Agreed, aside from Fury, it's probably the one song I wish made it onto an album so it could be played more frequently more than any of the other B-Sides.

The painful thing about my Muse bucket list is that the main one I've not heard live and am dying to do so is the one that gets played the most out of it (Map)

True but they're also mostly guitar parts that don't actually sound that exciting when Matt plays them either tbf haha. Agreed on Hoodoo though, sounds as if it would've been mega live. Yeah he plays the chords during the first part while matt's sliding about. Can see him using one of the Status guitars here:

Literally just the chords and solo.
-
Also to be fair, look at the parts Chris plays on guitar live - they're not exactly the most exciting haha. Globalist, Guiding Light, Hoodoo - literally the only one he could've really spruced up was Blackout but for some reason he went for a really bland sounding tone.

Yeah it's kinda fun. The solo is different and the chorus is great if you have the effects to make it sound cool - I use some auto-wah, reverb and a little bit of chorus to get the chords to really ring. I have to mimic the bass in the verse though and like to play along with the stabs post-chorus.

Really like TDS. Initial observations after two listens. - Sounds very like that CHVRCHES cover they did which I am ALL for. - The synth arpeggios - Those synth stabs in the breaks post-chorus - The guitar solo synth tone and phrasing are fkin great. - Matt's delivery on the "Save me from the daaaark side" line towards the end EDIT: Also I know a lot of people aren't fans of the neon, sci-fi movie aesthetic they're going for but I actually quite like it. It's nice to see them really embracing that kinda cheesy fun side.
