no way they drop starlight, it's hardly the only song most people know in the U.S., at least from my own experience

I can see this song being big in alternative stations. Also yeah I'm not hearing explorers aside from the fact that the vocals are really impressive

I can hear SS' chorus in the chorus for Mercy. But only in the fact that it's in half time on the drums. Other than that they're entirely different

Call me crazy but it's refreshing to have an anthemic track like this again. I felt personally that T2L was kind of lacking in that department, and this track seems so melodic and big. Imagine how the studio version will sound..

There's definitely arpeggios in there

Just going by what we've heard so far (DI, Psycho, Reapers and Mercy live, and parts of Defector & The Globalist), I think I'll at least enjoy this a whole lot more than T2L.

After first listen I don't think so bc Starlight has really good dynamics. Maybe the studio version of Mercy might have more drastic production though

Reminds me of The Killers at first...vocals are pretty good...very melodic. Really does remind me a lot of 2000s britpop stuff, a lot like Starlight. I hear some arpeggios! Chorus is like an upbeat Stockholm. I like it, as far as the single goes.

It'd be like when all of those Seahawks fans left the NFC championship early only to be locked out of the comeback

Still a cool bit of memorbelia though — not much of a price to pay for it either

2015.05.08 - Webster Hall, New York, NY, US
HomesickSubterranean replied to Victoroy's topic in Gigs
I'm not suggesting that it isn't gonna stick around, I just thought it was a bit out of a outlier track from the rest of the setlist & I feel like it may have been a chance for them to perform it live for the first time in a while before a more public show the next day -

I feel like the only reason Madness was on that setlist was to give it a shot live before its inevitable performance at the iHeart Radio show. -
I'm only going by the WIkipedia definition of prog here, but the idea that prog music is inspired by the compositional structure of jazz and classical doesn't necessarily mean things should flow well. Modern composers like Bartok or jazz artists like Mingus are enough to show that classical music doesn't necessarily equal fluid. Complex and sophisticated? Maybe. EDIT: also how can you call a certain style of music literally called "progressive" when you put constraints on it like saying it has to be fluid?

My 3rd spot for best Muse album is pretty shaky. Black Holes? Resistance? I could see Drones being better than either

Are the DTS tracks remastered in any way? Is it even possible to listen to it in a stereo setup like a computer?

So about 4 weeks till the album is released. What do you guys expect we'll get until then? I'm really curious to see if they'll release a third track (not necessarily a single) before the album comes out. Full tour dates would be nice too.

Physical release of 'Dead Inside'?
HomesickSubterranean replied to great-gig-in-the-sky's topic in Songs & Releases
Don't worry, I had never heard of it before either. Sounds like its "just a simple cardboard sleeve (artwork on front and back, no liner notes) not unlike the packaging for most promo singles," according to some guy on a forum elsewhere. -

I ordered that CD, I'm really curious if it will have any unique artwork. Not really expecting additional tracks though -
I refuse to take any fan descriptions seriously after that French Twitter compared Madness to Bliss.

He's referring to the chord progression (vi - IV - I - V) not the chords in a particular key. But still, MK Ultra's riff isn't just arpeggios on those chords since there's a lot of non-chord tones in it. I think that makes it a bit more interesting than that chord sequence in DI
