  1. 17 songs is still frustrating to see. I don't understand their logic sometimes, you don't play LESS songs than on your last arena tour. There's always the hope they try a few different songs over the remaining five nights, enjoy them, and start to play them more often on the other one off/paired shows. Like with Map on the US tour. Speaking of which...where was Map last night?
  2. I'm at least expecting there to be some piano rotation over the six Paris shows. Sunburn pops up every tour, hoping for Hoodoo (happy birthday BHaR) and RBS too. Just not Explorers. Please.
  3. ^ I forgot about that, what a shitty thing to do. Thinking about the upcoming European tour and I'm trying to keep my expectations grounded. Not expecting the sets to get any longer...I guess SS might make a return somewhere? I'd love to be proved completely wrong. It's a shame, you look at the sets they played early last year (as well as some of the summer gigs) to now and it's a colossal downgrade. Booked to see them on three dates and I admit to not being as excited as on previous tours. Feel crappy saying it but if I'd have known beforehand this wouldn't be a typical multiple date situation for me. Although, if I finally get Apocalypse Please that will lessen the sting. I'm not going to any of the first nights though so I'm not even convinced I'll hear that
  4. Good to see people have been giving this a go over the past few days.Hopefully something has at least been mentioned during the rehearsals.
  5. I figured things would be quiet whilst they were on their break but if they resume next week then this weekend (and any days leading up to a residency) is probably our best shot. I'll be tweeting!
  6. I did consider switching Uprising with Bliss...but I can't stand Uprising so late in the gig for some reason. Much prefer it earlier on when the energy is higher. Damn, I forgot about Map
  7. A (somewhat) realistic/optimistic take on a 2016 Glastonbury set: 18 songs (one more than 2010), one rarity, most of the hits (Resistance can jog on) and the usual crowd pleasers. If they were to actually play it, of course. 1. Psycho 2. Uprising 3. Muscle Museum 4. Supermassive Blackhole 5. The Handler 6. Plug in Baby 7. Dead Inside 8. Hysteria 9. Apocalypse Please 10. Feeling Good 11. Madness 12. Starlight 13. Time Is Running Out 14. Reapers 15. Stockholm Syndrome 16. Bliss 17. Mercy 18. Knights
  8. True! Even ten years on they still bang on about it. It'd probably get an even better reception early on in the set due to people not being knackered at the end of the gig. To be fair I wouldn't mind it closing every time if they just quit with the overlong MWAH.
  9. I still think Knights is immense live, even if Matt seems to go through the motions with it from time to time, but they really need to ditch the harmonica. The Close Encounters intro is quick and builds up lots of suspense in such a short time. The 2013 stadium gigs where they played it just before the piano section was great because no one was expecting it, every venue I saw it in erupted. I'd even be up with them opening with it from time to time, surely they must get bored of closing with it at every single show?
  10. Say if Muse did do the rumoured '4th headliner' slot...is there any chance they could play earlier on in the day and tie that in with playing BHaR in full? It wouldn't be as alienating for the non hardcore fans if they played the album in full earlier on in the day/evening...perhaps on one of the other stages? You'd imagine that they wouldn't try that with the 'proper' headline slot, even though OoS went down well at R+L I'm not sure they'd give it a go at Glasto. Edit: Just a complete pipe dream/extreme wishful thinking on my part to be honest!
  11. Ah I didn't realise they mentioned Assassin at Belfast, I just thought they played it out of the blue. Oh well then, it looks like they really do take notice. I could have sworn I heard Matt say something about Showbiz after Bliss at the Manchester gig but I never bothered watching the footage back.
  12. He did? I had no idea! Did he reply to you? In that case we might as well.
  13. Yeah I reckon Glen and Tom Kirk are probably the best shouts, perhaps Dom Anderson too? It's quite rare that the band members or the (official twitter account) post anything.
  14. A mass spam before each major city could work, it'd at least get the message across Positive vibes!
  15. Crap, completely forgot about this. I reckon there's a good chance that something can come of it. Are we going to mass tweet them a day or two before the start of the Europe gigs as well?
  16. Ah nice one. Not long then. Obviously part of me really wants them to do it but at the same time (much like OoS) this sort of thing would be much better suited to a gig or two of their own. The Shepard's Bush idea was a great shout. If it actually happens though...TaB, Map, Invincible, Assassin, CoD and Hoodoo all in one gig Plus they'd be forced to end on something other than Knights for a change
  17. Not exactly my dream setlist, but something that really wouldn't require that much more effort from the band for the current tour. Most of the big hits, a few rotational spots and the coveted rarity slot. Wanted to give a different 'flavour' to the encore. (Drones intro) 1. Psycho 2. Uprising/Defector 3. Assassin/Muscle Museum/Fury 4. Dead Inside 5. Supermassive Blackhole 6. Hysteria/Plug in Baby 7. Isolated System + The Handler 8. Sing for Absolution 9. Apocalypse Please/Ruled By Secrecy (Drum and bass jam) 10. Madness/Revolt 11. Time Is Running Out 12. Reapers 13. Mercy 14. Starlight 15. Knights of Cydonia 16. The Globalist 17. Map of the Problematique/Bliss 18. Butterflies and Hurricanes (with some sort of prolonged ending chord going into...) 19. Stockholm Syndrome
  18. Wow, Map still packs a hell of a punch live. Hope it stays around. Love or hate U2, they certainly know how to make a setlist that covers their entire career. Muse could learn a lot in that regard. This current tour had such potential, it's frustrating how little effort they need to put in to greatly improve things. Sadly, I don't think Europe is going to be the turn around people are hoping for.
  19. Wow, he sounded so good in 2012, those early Follow Me performances were tremendous. I wish he'd given SFA and CoD a go on that tour. I've not been keeping up with his voice recently, has there been any improvement?
  20. I hate to say it, but my interest in what the band do live these days is waning rapidly. At least on the Resistance tour (their lowest point imo until now) you were guaranteed New Born, US and SS at every show. Dropping Reapers is an absolutely horrible move. I can't keep thinking about how they only really play 17 songs, the band should be ashamed of themselves.
  21. So they chose to play SS at a festival but not at their own shows? It's tragic that SS is no longer a regular, bad enough that they decided to rotate it on the last tour. Which song did CE replace the other night? The current arena set with Bliss, CE, Hysteria, AP and SS (in place of UD if they can't be bothered to add in one more song) would be good.
