  1. They just need to play a balanced, career spanning setlist (show Showbiz some love) and do 2 rarities a night (1 at festivals) for every gig, regardless of where it is in the world. It's another issue entirely but every gig should be no less than 20 songs, once again, regardless of location and capacity.
  2. Exactly this. Rotations like UD/Take a Bow on this tour and Guiding Light/MK Ultra were always really odd rotation choices. Those sort of rotations can drastically change the vibe of the gig. Imo the most fair rotation they ever did was Map/Bliss last tour. New Born/SS was pretty good too, providing NB was at a quicker tempo.
  3. That is a fantastic idea. One rare song a night is all it would take. Fair play to Matt responding to people. The majority are being arseholes sadly, giving him grief is only going to make him not want to play more rare songs.
  4. If I was Muse at Glasto this year: 1. Psycho 2. Reapers 3. Plug in Baby 4. Supermassive Blackhole 5. Bliss 6. New Born 7. Dead Inside 8. Map of the Problematique 9. Starlight 10. Feeling Good 11. Madness 12. Hysteria 13. Time is Running Out 14. Mercy 15. Stockholm Syndrome 16. Back in Black/Sign of the Times 17. Uprising 18. Knights of Cydonia
  5. I've only just started feeling normal again after Glastonbury, what an amazing six days. I do think Muse were excellent but their show needed a 'moment' to really make it stand out. What's all this about them doing Back in Black with a special guest? Shame it never happened. Overall it was a great 8/10 performance for me, but the setlist wasn't as strong as it could have been. It's a shame they had to include/waste time with Isolated System, the jam and The Globalist though, they should have replaced those with New Born, Bliss and Feeling Good and kept the intensity high throughout. They could have even swapped The Handler imo.
  6. I reckon that'll be pretty much it. I'd prefer if they swapped Handler for MotP though. Did they play the jam in 2010? Edit: dammit I didn't notice you have Map in. I wonder if they'll play a Prince song? Coldplay have been playing Heroes on their current tour so it looks they'll do the same at Glasto.
  7. I first got into Muse in 2006, just after BHaR was released. A good friend of mine was really into them and sent me their entire catalogue over MSN () and I was hooked. Wembley stadium was the first time I saw them live and I was utterly blown away, it was my first ever gig and I can still remember parts of it clear as day. The peak of my fandom was through the Resistance and 2nd Law era. I saw plenty of gigs on those tours; I'm a little gutted I never got to see them on the Absolution tour but I still saw some incredible shows throughout that time. My opinion on Muse hasn't really changed all that much; they're still my favourite band, but whereas I used to think they could do no wrong, that's certainly not the case anymore. I have to admit their current tour is their weakest for me. It all started so well, the Psycho tour was one of the best things they've ever done and you could tell how much they were enjoying playing those old songs. I thought they'd continue with the energetic sets for the current tour due to them having so much fun in early 2015 and with a 'heavier' album to promote...but it's a shame to see their sets at the moment. The thing with Muse is that they're capable of so much more, and the fact that it would take so little effort from them makes it all the more frustrating. I keep banging on about it on here, but their sets should be 22 songs minimum at every show, regardless of venue. 17 songs a night is very, very poor...you simply don't play less songs than your last album tour on your current, absolutely shocking. It's a shame to see Matt having vocal trouble with songs too, especially after his peak on the T2L tour. I get that ageing comes into play eventually but it's quite a sudden change. I hope he gets himself fully recovered once the tour has ended. There is a lack of energy from him onstage these days too, I mostly blame the 360 stage set up for that but when you look at footage as recent as the Resistance tour you can see he's less lively. Shame really, mixing and livening up the sets would really help with this. Despite all this. and even though it'll be a standard tour set I'm really looking to Glastonbury. TL;DR been a big fan since 2007. They're not perfect by any means, but they're still my favourite band.
  8. Believe me, I don't dislike the songs but I'd like to see Uprising, Madness, Starlight and SMBH rotated as often as possible on future tours. Then again I've seen them many times now, if I was seeing them for the first time I'd expect those songs. Muse could so easily fix the setlist complaints by adding in more songs, that isn't going to happen though.
  9. I'm not too bothered by New Born given how many times I've seen it, though since they started playing quicker again it was pretty great. I'd take B+H over it any day though. Edit: I do find it interesting that they thought B+H sounded shit when Madness (vocally) sounds dire these days.
  10. I can understand Matt not being bothered about New Born given how much it's been played in the past. Butterflies sounding shit sounds crazy to me, it's always been phenomenal live. Unless Matt's finding it tough to sing these days... Edit: Guess we can rule both of those out for Glastonbury and the other summer festivals.
  11. The Handler vocals sounded really rough, that falsetto is painful why haven't they dropped it down a half step? To be honest I'd be up for them dropping it permanently if it's that much of a strain.
  12. Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I was hoping for 18 songs but even that is questionable, disappointing. They better not piss around and turn up late, their set at Rock Werchter last year was great because they flew through the songs with very little breaks in between. Hope they do the same at Glastonbury. Edit: Skip CE this year, skip the jams and for once skip that bloody harmonica.
