Hat
1999-2002 is interesting, odd and weird. 2003-2006 is deeper, mature and impressive. 2007-2010 is boring.

Hat
He still has his moments, like IBTY, Prague and the chorus of NSC. But overall his vocals are really boring these days.

drawakangaroo
His vocals on The Resistance aren't boring at all. I think Absolution and BHaR were my favorites vocally, but saying that now his voice is boring is just plain exaggeration.

Like I said, there are exceptions, but I find no interest in his vocals in most of the songs on TR. Ah, goddamn, Redemption is another exception
Tom//P
Actually one of the most interesting things I find on the new album is how many different singing styles he has.

Really? it's all pretty much the same tbh. The same thing that he has been doing for as long as he's been a singer.
xbroken_ideals
I find Matt's singing style in TR more sickening than boring, actually. But yes, there are a few exceptions.

Well, what do you want him to do different? If its his singing style then thats what it is...
Hat
Well, what do you want him to do different? If its his singing style then thats what it is... He is singing in the same style, but without the interesting and emotional voice of the first two albums, and without the impressive vocals of Absolution and BH&R. How his voice sounds has nothing to do with what style he's singing.
Lih
I love the vocals in MK Ultra, especially the verse. That'd be one of Matt's best vocal performances in recent times I'd say.
xbroken_ideals
Sickening? What But seriously, I can listen to GL just to enjoy his voice. Sickening. It's so deep it makes me want to vomit. As I said before, I can only take it in small doses.

How his voice sounds has nothing to do with what style he's singing. Wait wait. You said it was the same as its always been, then you said that the first two albums differ from Abso and BHaR. So by saying that, TR is different than the other 4 albums, which differ from each other And, yes, towards the beginning of Muse's career, Matt's voice was different than it is now, but its not like he can go back to that. a-museing
Matt's vocals are at their best on TR but I agree that they're less original than those on OOS.
