haze015
It would literally have to be angled back 45 degrees though! Plus then I'd have to find room for the 'head' you're using a 4x12 though i just angle the cab on the head:)
Musemaniac#2
could anyone help me? i need a portable amp for uni when it starts so i don't have to lug my laney LC-30 back and forth. i'm thinking 5-15 valve watts, 15 watts is the max, loudness and price wise. i owned an LC-15 a few months ago then upgraded to the 30-watt version but don't fancy having the same amp but in diff incarnations. it doesn't need to have much, i just want it to be valve, not be too big (quite portable) and have reverb (and be of a reasonable price, say £75-£250). i've found some candidates: laney VC-15 peavey nanovalve harley benton ga-5 fender blues junior (bit of push price wise but looks ace) cheers! i play all sorts, but usually keep it moderate gain. i won't need this amp to play extremly-high gain really. ta. Orange tiny terror? err Epiphone valve junior, Blackheart BH5-112 Little giant ummm, yeh
Arcane
Orange tiny terror? err Epiphone valve junior, Blackheart BH5-112 Little giant ummm, yeh oh forgot to say, want it to be combo too. thank you very much anyways! anyone else? would be helping loads! also...this is for the telecaster owners. is there a big build difference in getting a: squier standard tele: £189 (http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/squier-standard-telecaster/1321) or fender standard tele: £289 (http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/fender-telecaster/1020) i'm inclined to go for the fender one obviously because it costs more and thus i'd imagine it to be a better instrument, but there may be squier owners who think otherwise? i am just wondering if the increase in build quality is worth another 100 quid. thanks! EDIT: thanks musemaniac#2, that blackheart looks great. exactly the thing i'm going for. I just wish it had reverb, and that'd be the amp.

Musemaniac#2
fender standard teles are nicer to play, quality components and they are much better build + put together. And really it feels much cooler to own a Genuine Fender mim or mij than to own a Squire.

NaZZeX
Can anyone please tell me the standard price range for a Fender MIM Standard Strat in Sunburst? I think I'll be swapping out the bridge p'up for a Seymour Duncan JB Jr as well as adding in a killwsitch. Any idea how much that would cost in total assuming that I'm a complete n00b at modifying guitars myself?
Musemaniac#2
manson will do you a killswitch for not too much i think Maybe like £30, not sure though. The pickup will be easy aslong as you know how to install it. Standard price range? Around £200-300 New, use you could get one for about £150 in good condition if your lucky

Oh dear but that means I'll have to travel all the way to Exeter, right? There is a Feline branch in Croydon. Do you reckon they can make me a half decent killswitch? NaZZeX
Alright then. Thanks. . Now I need to find a strategic location to place it on my axe. I was thinking of placing on the left horn. I dont know. Suggestions please? .
Arcane
it depends where you want the switch. if you want it on one of the horn but there is no routed-out space at the moment then you will either need to route/drill a passage for any wire to go through and then route an area for the switch itself. it's a lot easier to put it in an area of the guitar that already has space for a switch. depends what guitar you have. if it's a strat, anywhere on the scratchplate if you can cut it nicely? if it's a fat strat/ibanez type then drill a hole around the volume/tone controls area (go into the back of the guitar, and watch out for wire) and then put your switch up through that. depends where you want it really... it doesn't cost much at all really, just find an easily-flippable switch/momentary button switch thingy (should be cheap) and then take a little effort to install it. there's quite a few guides on the internets to help you! NaZZeX
I'd love to try and do it myself but since I dont have the luxury of access to screwdrivers and such in my host family's place, I'll have to send it to the luthier. . So am I right to assume that it would cost more if I place the killswitch on the horn?
Musemaniac#2
i'd say top horn is a good place or just below the bridge (if you were holding the guitar in the playing position) so just below the bridge on the lower horn side , not behind the bridge ff style
NaZZeX
OK thanks guys! By the way, can someone recommend a noiseless single coil that sounds smooth when clean? And a humbucker. I was thinking of installing a Seymour Duncan JB in the humbucker position if I get an Ibanez SAS36FM.

I was thinking of installing a Seymour Duncan JB in the humbucker position if I get an Ibanez SAS36FM. the jb is good. http://www.andertons.co.uk/acatalog/info_SHR1BW.html It might not be quite what your looking for, but from what i've heard its a killer single coil. if you do get that guitar then use that pickup in the middle and for the neck pickup, a nicer smoother single coil such as maybe a http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop/flypage/product_id/17143 Single coil size humbucker? Those are just some i picked up of the web real quick, there are loads more out there
