I'm sure I've done this before, but the list expands:

-The Edge

-Bells

-John Frusciante (thereby Hendrix)

-John Mayer (thereby Hendrix)

-Jacob Tilley (realized last night that we're quite similar)

-Andy Othling

-Drew Shirley

-Jack White

-Billie Joe Armstrong

That's what I can come up with in a pinch

For me, really big influences are Omar Rodgriguez-Lopez, Jonny Greenwood (mostly for his atmosphere guitar stuff), Bell0rz, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, David Gilmour (god of toanz!), George Harrison

and of course...

Eric Clapton! (seriously, I thought there would've been loads of Clapton fans... where the hell are all you guys?)

Shout out to Clapton over here! I've stolen more of his licks then I care to admit.

Also am I the only one in the universe who isn't really a fan of Gilmour's tone?

Haha, I could probably play a 10 minute solo with all the Clapton licks I've borrowed! If you haven't seen it, watch this performance of I Shot The Sheriff (ignore the back up singers though!)

And yes, you are. :p

Edit: Just noticed the Clapton reference in your location!

I don't remember who, but someone said that your influences all meld together to create your own sound as a musician. This I believe.

Sounds accurate to me. You can usually figure it out looking at the equipment you own too.

Let's see

'62 reissue strats in fiesta red and sunburst - Hendrix/Frusciante/SRV

Mansons - Matt Bellamy John Paul Jones

Les Paul DC - Max Bartholomew

Maton BB1200 - Josh Homme

Fender Super Strat - EVH

two guitars previously owned by Tim Wheeler of Ash

Stone Deaf FX PDF-1 - Josh Homme

MXR Phase 90 - EVH/Max Bellend

Digitech Whammy - Tom Morello/Jack White/etc

TC electronic delay - The Edge

silvertone 1484 - Jack White

Marshall super lead - EVH

Marshall DSL 50 - Maxwell Bartholomew

Ceriatone AFD - Slash

Shit.

Your turn Jim.

Those are most of my influences, but still, there's Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Andy Summers, GSK, etc

Your turn Jim.

Manson MB-1 -- Matt Bellamy The guy from Protobaby

Gibson Les Paul Custom Goldtop -- The Edge, Drew Shirley, Daniel Lanois, etc.

'58 Gretsch Clipper -- The Civil Wars guy, Jack White

Kay 505 and 503A -- Jack White, Brendan Benson, Drew Shirley

Dunlop Crybaby -- John Frusciante, The Edge, etc.

DigiTech Whammy -- The Edge, Bellz0r

Ibanez TS-9 -- The Edge

ZVex Fuzz Factory -- Maffoo, Jack White

Death by Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun -- The Edge, Jack White

Strymon El Capistan -- The Edge, Andy Othling, Jacob Tilley

Strymon TimeLine -- The Edge, Andy Othling, Jacob Tilley

JHS Bunrunner -- Drew Shirley's signature fuzz

Lovepedal Les Lius -- Drew Shirley's "small amp set to blowing up" overdrive sound

Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter -- John Frusciante

Kay Fuzz Clone -- Daniel Lanois, The Edge

Most of my stuff isn't necessarily based on having the *exact* pedal which my influences use as much as it's simply based on sounds of theirs which I like.
