    Nice to see some synth arpeggios back, feels like it's been a while since we've had some. Just a shame it's in a such a meh song.

    Of course it did, just about everything sounds heavier when you see it live. I'm sure if people hadn't heard Starlight before, they'd say bits of that sounded pretty heavy.

    I thought it had a bit of a slower version of the main synth line? And true, I guess. Shame if it's true anyway, I really liked the sparse 'We are the universe' bits, replacing them with a JFK speech would be a downgrade imo. Minor gripe though, I suppose.

    Wait, where's all this about JFK being We Are The Universe come from? iirc, WATU leads directly into Uprising and even has bits of that in it so I don't get how that'll work. Edit: Also, if we're doing track ratings then: Dead Inside - 6.5 Psycho - 6.5 Mercy - 4 Reapers - 8.5

    Listened to it a couple of times now, not a fan. Comes across as a poor man's Starlight to me atm.

    I don't think I've seen anyone really hyping it up or raving about it, most people seem to be just saying "It's pretty good" or "It's okay", which has me slightly skeptical. Reapers is the only song that's stood out for me so far. The other two aren't bad, they just aren't all that great so hearing roughly similar things about this song ain't filling me with confidence. As I keep saying though, I'll reserve proper judgement for any song until I hear it.

    It's pretty much always that way when a new song gets debuted live. I wouldn't put too much weight on the reaction it's getting right now.

    Pretty vague but sounds roughly like single material, meaning it could well be the next one if the speculation is correct. Yeah, I wouldn't put too much on Matt saying it's dark. Thematically, I guess the first half is supposed to be but it doesn't sound like it'll be particularly dark sonically. I actually find Reapers to be quite fun and uplifting.

    Shit, at least it's something new, better than nothing. Pretty disappointing for people who went though I imagine. Wonder if they'll play whatever it is at the Mayan as well, we should get to actually hear it then. Edit: Also, just in case people were wondering, apparently it wasn't Defector or The Globalist.

    This. It's still unconfirmed whether they played new songs or not. The fact that cameras and phones were confiscated and that a few sources have said that a new song was played mean it's probs more likely that something new was debuted though. Edit: On-stage interview, not finished yet then apparently. Are we sure it doesn't actually start at 9 instead of finishing?

    Not sure why you're posting this here but I don't think anyone who actually saw it was really complaining. Even if they did, people don't have to like seeing a song just because other people want to see it

    A couple of people have been Tweeting about it so I'm guessing/hoping they'll start revealing some stuff soon (it finishes at 9pm in NA/2am in England, right?).

    I'll agree with that, definitely in the first chorus (of that performance) anyway. Fuck it, I've replayed it loads of times and I still can't tell, I'm giving up Hopefully a fan'll find out tonight somehow.
