  1. It makes sense in that he conveys his meaning. In that 'sense' it makes sense. 'in every way "except" ' is a valid concept. and haha! I do like pedantry as an exercise but not to obfuscate easily understood meaning in general chat
  2. depends on how many exceptions you add. If you add one exception... then perfect "except for" that one thing makes sense. (As Lewis's statement makes sense) But if you add a long list of exceptions, then 'perfect except for' becomes meaningless... I love pedantry...
  3. haha a predictable inevitability that someone would say the opposite! IBTY too cheesy for me. Although I like some cheese.... (Soldier's Poem, Invincible, Unintended......) so there!! ) easier for what ...? I was doing a workout! Easier workout for sure but I want to be fit
  4. They're v different type of songs imo. Reapers is pretty generic: heavy but not that special imo, compared with some of Muse's other heavier songs, whereas TAB is much more unusual and operatic in scope. TAB is extraordinary.
  5. Agree w you broadly speaking. I've seen them live 3 times and their setlist is very varied; lights sophisticated and stunning too. However 'Creep' is very beautiful and it wouldn't kill them to grit their teeth and play it; it's their best known song. When they played it in Paris a month or so ago the audience went wild; yet they hadn't played it for 7 years. I doubt many people go to a Radiohead concert who don't really know and like their stuff, I don't think they have much of a 'poppy' fanbase, unlike Muse.
  6. Yeah, I think rock is where his heart is, mostly. Suspect he'd lose some of the poppy stuff if he thought he could.
  7. Agreed Yes. Chosen by people setlist risks becoming a watered down, 'popular' setlist only. It was said on the other thread, I think, that 'hardcore' fans want deepcut rock songs; this is my impression too. I don't think Montreux would have caused such a fuss if it had been full of deepcut ballads.
  8. LOL he could refine it then. eg Big tits, blonde hair required.
  9. So only women aged 20 - 39 allowed right? So quaint.
