  4. Even taking the festival obligations into consideration, isn't there a lot of strange holes in that schedule? Two shows in Florida, nothing for nearly 2 weeks later. Same with the July shows. Not to mention coming all the way back to the US after Reading/Leeds just for 3 random shows. Guess I'm just hoping for a more fleshed out announcement on Monday.
  5. Dead Star Showbiz Space Dementia Cave Uno honorable mention: Micro Cuts
  6. Yeah, I don't know about any full albums if it hasn't been advertised that way by now. US fest sets should be fairly good though - Lolla 2011 and Coachella 2014 (despite subpar performance) were great for US standards. None of this is worth a trip to Cincinnati or Chicago for me though. Quite a gap between Delaware and Quebec; I wonder if they plan on doing any standalone shows in between (like Indy 2011). Even if completely unlikely, a show at DTE/Pine Knob here would be great.
  7. I don't think "more news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year" is very specific, either in reference to content or in timing. Many US festivals announce their line-ups not very far into the year. Lollapalooza and Outside Lands in particular, which are also in early August and would lead really well into R/L at the end of the month. I'd love to be wrong but I really don't think it's going to be some kind of surprise album/EP or club tour or anything.
  8. Wonder which festivals would be likely next year? March, Ultra (don't typically have rock bands headline, but it has happened before) April, Coachella (just played in 2014, so unlikely) May, Sasquatch! (never played?) June, Bonnaroo (never played?) June, Firefly (never played) June, Hangout (never played) August, Lollapalooza (last time was 2011) August, Osheaga (never played? yes this is Canada but whatever) August, Outside Lands (last played in 2011) October, Austin City Limits (last played in 2013)
  9. Muse's stage show has a lot to do with it, too. Their sets have been more or less scripted due to the production since The Resistance tour. Prior to 2006, Muse were more spontaneous with sets - especially with set order, which often gives the illusion that things are getting mixed up more than they really are. It would be nice to go back to those days, but that's the trade off for pretty lights and visuals. Pearl Jam and The Cure don't have high production shows and are able to be much more free with song variety. Then again there's lots of bands that don't have high production that still don't mix things up. Bands like Pearl Jam and the Cure are exceptions, frankly.
  10. I was at Coachella during RSD, but a co-worker picked this up for me (and Mew), so I'm excited to be getting those from him today. He wasn't able to get the Lush boxset for me unfortunately. Oh well, that saved me about $100
  11. They could always use the typical, shitty first night for the main concert film and then throw in the rest as bonus content, or Christmas gifts in 2018, or just not use them at all, etc.
  12. Yes you could, but why? They're never going to actually perform a set like that either, even if it feels like it at recent times. Hey let's all make Muse playlists and post them.
  13. If we're going to get technical, the fact that it's possible for Muse to construct a decent, if not great, setlist composed of only songs from 2009 and later is kind of meaningless, as that still requires the band to mostly cater to fans of their heavier style. They don't even do that now as they're (somewhat) pulling from their whole catalog. The old-to-new ratio isn't really the problem with their sets, even though it is generally regarded as fan service to include at least some older material.
