  1. Hey, no problemo! I've been keeping busy as well, so it's all good :). Oh wow, first week of university eh? Must be exciting! Might I ask what you are studying?

Oh yeah, that was a exciting scene too! I seriously didn't think she was going to make it to her sister's store. What I had anticipated was the Fisherman killing her right in front of her sister as she was banging on the door, and then breaking in to kill the sister as well. But I guess that would have been too easy ;)

House of 1000 Corpses sounds pretty creepy and twisted! But if it's done in a relatively classy way, I wouldn't mind watching it. I can't stand horror movies that rely on gratuitous gore *cough*texaschainsawmassacre&saw*cough*

I have to admit that I've never seen Pulp Fiction (at least not in its entirety). I know it's such an iconic movie, but for some reason, I've never gotten around to watching it! However, I have seen both Kill Bills, and thought that they were really good. The humour of those movies really lighten up the gore. I think Planet Terror definitely has potential to be a good movie. Though some parts that I have seen were pretty disturbing. If you ever get around to watching it, I'm referring to a scene that Quentin Tarantino himself was in (at least I think there's only one scene with him...). I was like :stunned: when I saw it.

OH Hans Zimmer did the Gladiator soundtrack? Perhaps that's why he sounded so familiar. I remember way back when I downloaded some tracks from that movie and I really liked them. I should download the The Dark Knight soundtrack as well seeing as I loved that movie so much. I'll check out the Pearl Harbour one as well

I wonder if Danny Elfman is going to compose the soundtrack for Burton's upcoming Alice In Wonderland movie (which btw, I am DYING to see). That would be too :awesome:

John Williams composed the music for the first 3 HP movies only I believe. However, I've only heard the 1st and 3rd one cos I haven't been able to find torrents for the 2nd one. Both the 1st and 3rd ones are really good however. I especially like the 1st one. Tis good studying music :D

  2. Have you seen "Profiler, Profiled" from Season 2 yet? I believe that's where A&E left off. Or maybe it was "Sex, Birth, Death". Anyhow, that was where I left off with my downloaded episodes, so I can watch em on ze tele now

Anyhoos, are the Muse concerts you're going to later this year or are they all next year? GAH, I can't wait till they announce the Canadian dates. I've been suffering from Live Muse withdrawal for far too long.

  3. That's :awesome:

Did you download the episodes or are you watching them on the tele as well? I'm going to start watching CM on A&E now seeing as I'm finally caught up :D *sigh*...Dr. Reid is getting awesomer with each episode.

  4. Oy, yeah perhaps I shouldn't say that. Might jinx the show :erm:

Pushing Daisies was doing well.....with the critics. People just couldn't appreciate the show for its unique brand of awesomeness. Apparently, the series is going to be continued in comic book format though, but of course, that is soo not going to be the same. For one thing, my hubby #1 Lee Pace won't look half as good in a comic book as opposed to on my TV screen :noey:

  5. YUS! In which case, CM shouldn't be cancelled anytime soon

That seems to happen to a lot of my favourite shows (notably Pushing Daisies) :(

  6. I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard someone say"Stuff you" in the movie. It doesn't exactly have the same effect as "Fuck you" :chuckle:

I agree with you completely. The first one is the best (though I haven't seen the 3rd one, chances are it won't be anywhere near as good as the first). It was pretty intense and exciting (the part that made me sit on the edge of my seat the most was when the Fisherman was going after Sarah Michelle Geller's character. Especially the end when she FINALLY made it near the end of the alleyway towards the parade, and STILL managed to get killed. I was like ) And yeah, the movies aren't technically in the horror genre. They're more along the lines of thriller/slasher, which is different.

Is House of 1000 Corpses the Rob Zombie movie? And you're right, the title of the movie alone is enough to make me :LOL: Is it one of those horror movies where a group of people get locked up in some haunted mansion and get killed off one by one by ghosts? Much like The Haunting and House on Haunted Hill? I've seen those two movies, and they're fairly decent.

Have you seen Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse? That's the first movie(s) I think of when I think of campy gory movies. Planet Terror was on TV one night. I couldn't really get through it though cos it was too gory, not too mention too late at night for watching movies like that . A friend of mine who's a Tarantino fan said it was pretty good though.

Well, I think Amélie and Goodbye, Lenin! are the only soundtracks that Yann Tiersen have composed for so far. The other albums are all his own work on the side, as well as live recordings. That includes Le Phare and La Valse des Monstres. Hans Zimmer sounds familiar. What soundtracks has he done? And Danny Elfman IS a pretty good composer! I love the Sleepy Hollow soundtrack. John Williams is good as well. The Harry Potter soundtracks are :awesome:

  7. Hey!

Thanks for accepting ze friend request fellow MGG/CM fanatic :D

  8. Allo fellow MGG/CM fanatic!

Thanks for accepting ze friend request

  9. Yeah, he is getting quite old, but he's still good lookin for an older fella ;)

Speaking of I Know What You Did Last Summer, it was actually on TV a few nights ago! But it was on a channel that censors just about anything mildly offensive, so lines like "FUCK YOU" become "STUFF YOU" :chuckle: Have you seen the sequels? The third one is apparently called "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer". Talk about a  title. I wouldn't really bother watching it though cos no one from the original cast is even in it. Not to mention, it was a straight-to-DVD movie, so it can't be any good (but might be for comedic value ;)).

There's a big difference between Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre though. In the latter, the killers are more brutal (at least compared to the '80s installments of Friday the 13th), and they actually EAT their victims. The idea of a family of cannibals is much more disturbing than one crazy guy who goes on a killing spree.

I've never seen a single Saw movie. I'm afraid I'll be scarred for life if I did. Have you ever seen the movie The Cell (with Jennifer Lopez)? It was a beautifully filmed movie, but quite disturbing at the same time. I appreciate it for its artistic value, something that movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre doesn't have. The remake with Jessica Biel literally made me sick to my stomach when I saw it.

And no, I haven't seen Braindead or Evil Dead. Are they campy horror movies? Those are always great

Goodbye, Lenin! is a really interesting movie. I really liked the concept behind it. It's basically about this woman who falls into a coma of sorts, and when she awakens, the doctor informs her son and daughter that if she is exposed to any form of shock, she would suffer a heart attack and die. Coincidently, when she awakens, the government in power has changed such that capitalism has taken over East Berlin. As this is something that would greatly shock their mother, the son and daughter decide to lead their mother to believe that things have not changed since her coma (which she fell into years ago) with some clever methods. I won't go into anymore detail about it, cos I don't want to spoil it. All in all, you should definitely give it another go! If anything, listen to the soundtrack; it's great :D And I looove Comptine d'un autre été l'après midi as well! The other piano tracks are lovely as well. Yann Tiersen's work in general is really good too. You should download his other albums too if you haven't already!

  10. Aww, that's too bad! I think the last time they came to Toronto, it was an All Ages show, so I was able to go :). It was such an amazing show despite the crazy moshers. At one point, the crowd got so crazy that some little geeky guy linked arms with me as though he was hanging on for dear life :chuckle:. I was soooo close to the barrier too (I was in the 2nd row), but it was pretty hard cos a lot of people had been waiting in line for a REALLY long time (probably since morning). When my friends and I went, we waited at least 5 hours or so. It's really the only way to guarantee getting good spots, so I would suggest you do the same if they go to Vancouver!

 It's understandable with the smileys. They're all so cute, it's hard not to use them!

  11. Actually, it's Joseph Fiennes, rather than his brother Ralph, who's in Flash Forward. Though they're both fairly easy on the eyes ;)

I should look into Harper's Island to see if it's still even on. I don't recall seeing promos for it lately. Unless of course, it was supposed to be a mini series, and has already ended. Shows with these kinds of premises can only go on for so long.

I like horror movies as well! Though I'm more into the supernatural/thriller types, rather than the gory violent types. Movies like Saw or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre really gross me out, so I avoid them at all costs. Strangely enough though, I don't mind slasher films (like Halloween, Friday The 13th, Scream, etc) too much. I like to watch old ones for their comedic value

Haha, yeah, Gubler currently has long-ish hair on the show. But his hair was shorter during the earlier seasons (I'm almost done Season 1 ). And YES I do rather like him. He's cute in a dorky and gawky way (especially when he's wearing glasses), and is beyond hilarious in real life, as well as on the show (sometimes unintentionally :chuckle:). He's been in the movie 500 Days of Summer (which I haven't seen), and he had a small bit in The Life Aquatic.

Thanks! :D It's good that of all the foreign movies I have seen, I actually like the majority of them. Seeing as you're German, have you seen Goodbye, Lenin! before? It's funny cos I really got into it from listening to the soundtrack first. It's composed by Yann Tiersen, who also did the Amelie soundtrack

  12. Oh wow, 1/4 Japanese eh? Cool!

Haha, sometimes I speak with a bit of an English accent, but it's mostly when I mix up both English and Canto together

So have you ever seen Muse live before? I saw them quite a few years back during the BH&R tour, so I'm dyyying to see them again. When I first saw the Resistance tour dates, I was like :stunned: cos there weren't any dates in Canada! Thank goodness Matt confirmed that they were going to come next year :awesome:

  13.

I speak Canto (albeit, not very well :erm:). You? :)

  14. Thanks for ze add, fellow Asian Muser!

  15. Oh wow, 5th season, just like Criminal Minds! I'll probably go and check it out once I'm done catching up with CM. Some other shows that I might check out include Fringe and Flash Forward. Have you heard of them? They seem to be interesting as well.

I think watching blooper reels and this fake 5 part documentary that one of the cast members (Matthew Grey Gubler, my love ) did will be enough to turn anyone into a CM fan :D

I think I may have heard of Harper's Island before. Is it the show where people on an island die one by one with every episode? Sounds pretty cool!

Some other foreign movies I like include A Very Long Engagement (French), La Vie en Rose (French), Goodbye, Lenin! (German), Pan's Labyrinth (Spanish), The Orphanage (Spanish), and Life Is Beautiful (Italian) :)

  16. Oh yeah, good point. They probably want to see how well the Americans like it first to see if it's worth broadcasting world-wide. It certainly isn't like any other show on TV these days, so I have a feeling it'll stick around for awhile ;)

And yes, it is from Amelie! It's such a cute and charming movie ; I was so tearing up near the end when Amelie was waiting for the guy she liked to find her. I think I first saw the movie about 2-3 years ago. What appealed to me the most about it was the cinematography. Plus, I'm a sucker for foreign films :D

Oh yeah, I've heard of Supernatural! And yes, it seems really interesting. I've seen a few episodes, and they were quite good. Just haven't gotten around to watching all the episodes yet. How many seasons are there? I'm currently watching the show Criminal Minds. They're apparently on their 5th season right now, and I'm only a quarter-way through the 1st season (yeah, I've got quite a bit of catching up to do). It's really good so far, and very different from usual crime dramas like CSI and Law and Order.

  17. For sure! It was such a refreshing take on the usual serious crime dramas. Who ever thought that grisly murders could be dealt with in such a cute and quirkly way! ;)

Another reason why I loved the show so much was cos it was inspired by the movie Amelie (tone, cinematography, etc), which is one of my favourite movies of all time

Glee's a show about a high school that has a glee club (a show choir of sorts), and how the teacher who's in charge struggles with keeping it together and having it accepted by the school. The show's definitely got potential, and is bright and cheery like Pushing Daisies. Plus there are a lot of musical numbers as well (sort of like how Olive Snooke had hers :D), so it's pretty fun. You should check it out if you get the chance!

  18. Tell me about it! There is no other show quite like it, and I don't think there ever will be seeing as what the American public are into these days (American Idol, Dancing with the Stars? Bah :phu:). Do you watch the show Glee? Olive Snooke made a guest appearance on it this week. It was sooo :awesome:

  19. Oui!

It was (and still is) one of my favourite shows! Shame that it got cancelled :(

Are you a Lee Pace fan as well? He is :awesome:!

  20. It's great, but far from being my favourite! My favourite is without a doubt OOS

  21. (random comment)

I always find myself giggling whenever I see your AV. It's so funny/cute :chuckle:

  22. I find that I'm always listening to only Exogenesis whenever I listen to the album. It's just TOO good. And I'm doing well today, thanks for asking :). Been relaxing at home and doing a bit of job hunting on the side. It's been a tough process to say the least!

  23. Thanks, you too! :)

How are you liking the new album?
