dead-duck Posted June 6, 2010 Share Posted June 6, 2010 I thought the set wasn't much different than usual, apart from I thought they started with MK and included Bliss. Can't remember exactly. All I remember is that people were complaining that it wasn't a rocky enough setlist and that Muse had gone against what they said. But Muse pulled out all the stops it seems and had a great audience. It seems like the complaints last night were based on setlist rumors. For example, the claim was that NSC was played and US wasn't.... now we know that US was played and the fact that NSC wasn't played tonight indicates the possibility that it wasn't played last night either..... unless there was a tweet about it? I wasn't here But either way, they didn't necessarily play a rockier set tonight, just that the guesses of last nights setlist may have been wrong? Either way, it'll all be settled soon, because as has been mentioned, someone apparently got a hold of a setlist, so we'll know once and for all! THAT'S IT, iVE HAD IT WITH MUSE. not bothered to go to any more of their gigs. You'll hear "this set was shit" from time to time but most of the commenting is on the song selection, not the actual performance of the song. I just think there's a lot of backlash towards people who express anything resembling negative comments. Sometimes the moaning is a bit uncalled for, I'll admit, but whenever there is (sometimes even before) commenting on the set starts you'll see "gtfo moaners". CarrieB Posted June 6, 2010 Share Posted June 6, 2010 i did not really believe the unconfirmed setlist posted - i think some people moaned based on the posted unconfirmed setlist considering before the show Matt said in the interview they will bring a rocking set. now we know the posted selist for last night is inaccurate since they played us in the stream. Yeah but all I'm saying is that the songs we have seen on the stream weren't different to what they usually play anyway. The only difference was Bliss. The point I'm making is that people could watch a gig with songs like Undisclosed Desires and Starlight and Time is Running Out and still think it's more rocky because it was high energy rather than it being because the setlist was different. Because that's basically what Arman was saying... I find it hard to believe there would be any fan that would be looking at the festival setup and hearing a fully on fire band that would go "show was crap, it really needed a UFO and some graphics of the nasonex bee...." Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the set, ufo or whatever, but it seems like you're taking an odd stand here... So late on this, real life getting in the way of plane-rides tonight, but actually... I wouldn't've gone all the way to Switzerland to see them play a stripped-down show. I went for the show, for the 'what the actual fuck?!' effect, and bejeesus I got it. So, yeah I wouldn't be unhappy to just go for the music, but I wouldn't travel for it, and it's not what Muse (or Matt at least) want to do. Right, back to thread catch-up... Well we don't know whether or not it was played yet last night. But NSC is actually quite rocky. I mean it's quite a bit rockier than UD for example and they played that. Unless there's a trick I don't know ... it turns up every post that says "setlist" ... which is a lot of posts that don't have an actual setlist. I usually just fish around in the thread to find it, though, rather than ask to have it posted for the 500th time. Actually, I just wait until someone else asks. Nonetheless, thanks for reposting it!
