Jobby Posted August 3, 2015 Share Posted August 3, 2015 Hullaballoo is what Muse need to do for all their future releases "uh... here's just a compilation of some weird songs we had laying around... yeah..." No expectations for coherency, quality, etc. And yeah, once you start ranking Hulla, DS/IYW and all that, it gets a bit complicated. Shrinking Universe, definitely top ten, still. I actually think Hullabaloo's pretty coherent because of it's oddness. There's a weirdly consistent feel/vibe about it, even though the songs were recorded/written years apart. Definitely feels like their most experimental album imo. Also, I'd say it's fair to rank Hulla considering it's album-length, as opposed to EPs and whatnot. I've still got a huge soft spot for Recess too, mad little song. Recess, Forced In, HCM, Nature_1, The Gallery are all great imo. MOYH, Ashamed and Yes Please are pretty good too. I was actually beginning to think I'd gotten away with creating a totally pointless thread that doesn't even belong in this forum. No one even complained, it was hilarious!
