  1. Seeing as it was my first and I think I was a bit blinded by excitement, hopefully tomorrow will blow me away, then! I remember seeing the set list for the following day and feeling a tad frustrated, and then finding out they played Sunburn a few days later! I do wish they'd have a rotation for the Showbiz album, even if it's only one slot.
  2. Was that the 12th, by any chance? Admittedly, it was my first Muse gig, so I haven't yet grown tired of the likes of TIRO and KoC, but the middle section was particularly underwhelming in terms of song choice. I really wish they'd replace Madness with something else from T2L, but I guess you can't please everyone . Apologies in advance for anyone also going tomorrow if my same fears are realised! This would make my night. Got to love that piano solo!
  3. I suffer from anxiety and hate big crowds and also I'm a shorty, so I figured unless I got barrier for Brussels, I'd just be staring at the back of the person in front of me. My friend and I stood at the very back of GA, near one of the side stages, and there were only a few rows in front of us, so we got quite a decent view when Matt came down our end. We were also in a position to appreciate the visuals happening on the central stage. We did a bit of moving around while Nothing But Thieves were on, so my advice would be if you are able to enter standing from more than one entrance, if you're not happy with the first view you get, try a different entrance. I only got a couple of pictures on my crappy phone camera, which don't really do it justice, but this is where we stood: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10100546468102564&set=a.776012509774.237145.222303601&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10100546468102564&set=a.776012509774.237145.222303601&type=3&theater
  4. I'd leave very happy indeed if this were to happen - from this list, I've only heard Plug In Baby so far. Let's hope your Assassin banner has done the trick! I have to admit to laughing at the 'dildrone incident'. I'm also hoping that TaB appears tomorrow instead of UD. Kind of makes sense I guess, as it's their last night in the London residency.
  5. We've found a train that arrives around 3:00, so our plan is to check out the merchandise first and then we've managed to nab a table at Zizzi's for 4:00. Thanks for your responses, guys. Seems we can relax a bit, as my partner has the afternoon off work, so we will hopefully avoid the dreaded '5:00 rush'. Will look up the bus times in case the tube is busy. Really excited about Friday! Been watching Hullabaloo, Absolution Tour, HAARP and Live at Rome Olympic Stadium in anticipation. I must say, I liked the 'Don't Erase Citizen' banner!
  6. Just a brief question. Does anyone know of any restaurant within the O2 that takes bookings? We're going to be travelling a fair distance (we're going by train to Stratford and catching the Jubilee line) and would ideally like to sit down and eat something before the gig, as we probably won't be getting back until the small hours of the morning. We won't be able to make it before mid-afternoon, so I'm worried everywhere will be heaving by then. I've already tried the Pizza Express website, but there's no online booking option. I think this is the case with a lot of the restaurants, unfortunately. Any advice would be much appreciated! It's a shame about the likely markups, but as far as I'm aware, there isn't anywhere much nearby outside the arena.
  7. I'll keep an eye out for you! I really want to stand as well, but I'm worried my fear of fallling and others preferring to sit will prevent me from doing so. I did love having a little dance/mosh at the back of the GA crowd in Brussels - it was so much fun, even if not that many people at the back were joining in. When I went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers with a friend a while back, barely anyone was sitting down in the seated area, but the highest seated section of the stadium was nowhere near as high as the O2 from what I've heard! I'm going to see what happens on the night, as I'd hate to obstruct anyone's view. Somebody else said it really depends who you are around. I have a feeling everyone will at least get up for Knights at the end.
  8. I can completely understand your decision, as it is so much more expensive over here. I hope you enjoy the show in June. I visited a friend in Brussels, as the initial UK dates were all sold out and I was desperate for a GA ticket. Only paid 64 euros, which I didn't think was too bad. The extra standing tickets released in London were 80 pounds and my friend and I didn't feel we could justify that. Unfortunately, my wallet has still taken a hit, with the seated ticket I bought (the cheapest available, right at the top of the arena). It will be a different experience, but I've heard many people say that if you are able to go more than once, it's best to experience both standing and seated, to take in the full atmosphere of the show. The seated ticket cost roughly the same as the standing one in Brussels. I'm really looking forward to it. I know the 15th was one of the extra dates added, but I'm feeling optimistic, as it's the last night in London.
  9. I'm sorry this may well be too late for you, but, as far as I'm aware, the curfew is only earlier on Sundays. From what I've read around this board regarding the UK leg of the tour though, Muse are on at around 8:30 or just afterwards with the gig lasting about 2 hours. Hope this helps!
  10. I may be wrong, but I think the support act is at 7:30, with Muse on at 8:30, though I'm not sure if it will be later, since the curfew at the O2 isn't as early on Friday.
  11. I agree with one of the above comments after my experience in Belgium. I was there on the 12th March and my friend and I really got into the music and were jumping around like loons during the more energetic numbers (we were at the back of standing/GA, as I'm a 5ft 3in shorty and didn't fancy the intensity of the barrier), then I watched a video of the concert on YouTube a few days later and everyone was standing still, even during songs like Hysteria and Psycho. Ok, so it could be argued that parts of the setlist left a lot to be desired, but I was thinking how I hope we didn't stand out *too* much ! I did hear that one side of the stage got into it much more than the other, so maybe it was filmed from the more sedate side. Hoping the London crowd next month is good.
  12. I caved and bought late tickets for this gig after I went overseas to see Muse in Brussels with a friend and it was so good. Most fun I've ever had at a concert, and I've been keen to see them ever since a friend lent me the Absolution Tour DVD last year. Only downside is that my friend who is coming to London with me insisted on seated tickets, so we're stuck in the 400s. Ah well, at least I still get to appreciate the music (although, I probably won't be able to sit still!), and I'm guessing it will be quite a different experience to standing - hopefully, I'll be able to take it more of the visual side as well (even if Matt, Chris and Dom are going to look like tiny dots on the stage!). I have hard a few people say that sound is distorted if you are very high up - I really hope this isn't the case. I agree with the person who said that hopefully we get a 'second night' playlist. I was in Brussels on the first night, and whilst it was amazing hearing Muse live for the first time, I was a little disappointed that nothing from Showbiz was played (and only one song from Origin of Symmetry). Crossing my fingers and really grateful I have a second chance to take in this tour.

  14. I've already posted in the general Drones tour discussion thread, but would be interested to hear of people's experiences. I went to see Muse in Brussels and they were brilliant - I'm just gutted I missed Sunburn. It was my first time seeing them and we had GA/standing tickets. I had so much fun that I've persuaded my friend, who is a fan, to snap up a couple of tickets on home soil at the O2 arena in London on the 15th. It's going to be a totally different experience, as we are seated. We are in Block 401, row C, seats 474 to 476. I'm aware these are far from the best tickets we could have obtained, but my friend is not keen on the idea of being in the pit, plus we are a little short on money, so these seemed like the best option. My question is - are these as unnervingly high as a few people have said? Also, I'm the kind of person who finds it impossible to remain still at a rock concert, so do people in this part of the arena generally stay seated? I'd like to get up and dance and sing along without annoying people/blocking their view/looking like an idiot. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has seen Muse at the O2 in the past. Hopefully, as it's the last night in London, we'll get a decent playlist. I was a little disappointed by the lack of earlier material and Reapers (we got Revolt instead, which was a bit of a bummer). Fingers crossed.
  15. I've had Stockholm Syndrome stuck in my head on continuous loop all evening. Brilliant song. I'm crossing my fingers that they play it live in London next month, as it's so energetic. I've been listening to Absolution a lot recently - I do like the abundance of piano. That solo in Butterflies and Hurricanes is amazing. I own the Absolution Tour DVD and I love the crowd atmosphere during that part of the song, and how Matt's fingers glide over the keys so effortlessly.
