  1. I mean, if I had the kind of money to afford an MB, I might as well
  2. Nah, I've just left the mess there. I don't really know where to get paint to paint over it and stuff. Maybe I'll put a "Cider" logo on it But seriously, if you use 600 grit sandpaper it should be a-okay. I'm actually really tempted to buy another black one and mod it like a Matt Black (mine's a stealth Matt Black now ). Perhaps put an MBK2 in it instead of the MBK3 on mine. Should be awesome.
  3. I mean, I'm guilty of removing the logo myself, but I was drunk and wanted to do it just for the sake of it. I love this guitar though. Best decision so far has been listening to you guys and buying it. To be fair I've modded it out so much I could've just bought a Manson anyway, but this is more enjoyable for now Looking at the red one now and I'm not liking it as much, tbh. Something is odd. And by "something" I mean the kill button and TOM bridge. O.o Care to elaborate?
  4. Probably blind https://www.mansonguitarworks.com/product/cort-mbc-1-red-sparkle-matthew-bellamy-signature-model-200
  5. Hm, maybe.... I'll open it up another day and check it out. Btw, Matt Bellami's? https://reverb.com/item/1574222-fender-aluminum-stratocaster-1994-chrome
  6. I wanna see it Also I just took the control cover on my Gibson off today and saw that in addition to the 2 giant (600V) Orange Drop caps, there were 2 little 0.033 uF caps for the volume controls I think? Anyone knows why they're there?
  7. Maybe I should email Adrian to see if I could get an MA-2 with ebony board and holo sparkle paint. I'm guessing his reply would be "dafuq yu shud just get a custom :stunned:"
  8. what's that o.o Yeah, the reason I want the DR-1 more than one of the MA's is the ebony board. I wonder if I could get an MA with ebony
  9. I think I'm just gonna call it a day and find someone to do this As long as it's not the old guy
  10. Thanks! I meant this wire here. There's a lug attached to a screw above the ground wire. The grey wire is the kill button I think
  11. Thanks James! Can I solder it to the tone control instead of the volume? Don't really have that much space on the side of that volume pot. What about the wire connected to the lug with the screw? Where does that go Oh yeah and if you have that HH picture I'd love to see it too. I think the wiring isn't that much different
  12. Here you go. Looks like shit but at least the Cort logo is gone . At least I guinea pigged for you guys, ya'll should be able to do a better job than that Probably won't look that bad far away enough of taken with my iPhone 6 though Okay, gotta ask for a favor: anyone knows what the hell this wire does? I think it was connected to the single coil, and it just goes into the guitar to infinity
  13. Sanded the Cort logo off, kinda fucked up my headstock, but then again I never even touched sandpaper before and I don't really care as long as it's not there anymore. I also used 220 grit paper so But yeah if ya'll use 600 grit and are a bit craftier than drunk pissed off Cider you'll be okay
  14. I will I will. It's gotten a bit easier, but the guitar was in a weird position that day thanks to my stupid strap :/ I mostly play sitting down, so I have no idea how I should where the strap to hang the guitar still. I'll try to relax my hands more. Thank you! and yeah modding is my favorite part of playing the guitar, to be honest. I didn't really enjoy it until I started modding. I'm really short and my hands are short, so I have to make the strap super short to even read the high frets. My old strap was a wee bit longer and I just couldn't use it. I mostly play sitting down, so I'm not sure how to even hang the guitar. Do I want the neck parallel to the floor or at a 45 degrees angle? Also, does it matter how the straplock connects to the strap? It currently sits like this Why a straight cable? I mostly play sitting down, so I got this thinking I wouldn't break it I'll look into the brands you recommended, thank you! And yeah, I probably need a better DAW. Didn't really want to pay for ProTools since I wouldn't know what to do with it yet. I'll see how Reaper is, thanks!
  15. Ya'll make me feel kind of bad because mine is working perfectly fine, I'm just snobby and I want to change things for... prevention. Or something. Wanted to try the Firehawk out so instead of cramming for my midterm I did this earlier today. The tone was just some random user-made tone. Recorded with GarageBand. Sorry for my terrible playing, I only started teaching myself since June. Also I never recorded anything before Now that I'm looking back at the vid I need to figure this guitar strap thing out. Why did it keep flipping made my wrist all fucked up I would love feedback and advice about my techniques though - nobody has ever seen me play before so I never know what I'm doing wrong. A few questions: 1. I need a good cable because this one makes noises when I touch it. What's a good cable that's not too expensive? 2. Do I need a good USB cable connecting my Firehawk FX (Line 6) to my laptop, or is my Amazon basics cable good enough? 3. Would GarageBand suffice for my needs for now - just random recordings like this, nothing too fancy
  16. Yeah, that sounds highly unlikely. I suspect he only ever touched the Cort when he needed to take those promo pictures. Doesn't even crush them during shows, let alone play in the studio to record
  17. I actually have a diagram from Timmy from BKP. Trilogy Suite neck, Aftermath bridge, coil tap push pull. Here Just got the 100V Orange Drop caps you linked me to. Thanks James. Can I see a cavity of anyone's Manson so I can see how clean the wiring is?
  18. Thanks James! Yeah, I don't understand the 600V $30 Jensen caps. At all. Btw didn't know your Cort had a sustainiac I need some wiring diagram coaching too
  19. Nah, I was talking about pots & stuff If I'm going to get the electronics swapped, might as well. Been reading up on soldering though and I'm kind of getting scared. I don't like my old tech, but I'm not sure if I should trust any other tech closeby Gary Brawer is expensive and he keeps your guitar for like 3 weeks Been gathering parts though. Someone link me to the caps you use & some fool-proof soldering guides please. Current list: Gotoh 3-way toggle, Mojotone CTS 500K push-pull & 500K short shaft, both with 7% tolerance (I'm assuming low is good )
  20. Yeah, I figure I'd replace the wires as well. You mean the cloth Fender wire, right? So I need... single conductor?
  21. I myself got the Line 6 Firehawk FX today. I'm so glad I picker it over the HD500X - I sit at my computer pretty much 2/3 of the day, it's nice to be able to play the guitar and *not* have to sit at my desk as well
