  1. According to the last update on their fb page it looks like a modded MBC-1RS i finally shipping out?
  2. I *think* I did, but then again this is the first aftermarket switch I bought a while ago when I had no idea how to solder, so some of the plastic (or glue) kinda melted Maybe I just ruined the switch itself somehow. Is there a way to check? Got my green strap. It's really nice - the green looks darker in person than in the pictures. the problem is I am way too damn short Gonna bring it to a leather store in a bit to see if they can punch an extra hole since creative weaving didn't work
  3. Look who has an instagram now: https://www.instagram.com/mattbellamy/ So, another question for people who know electronics: I put a black Allparts switch into the Gibson a couple days ago. Only now realizing that the middle position only has the neck pickup I know because my guitar is supposedly wired so that in the middle position the voluem pots are coupled - if one is 0 there'll be no sound. Well, the problem is the bridge volume at 0 doesn't do crap and the middle and neck position sound identical Faulty switch problem? Or something contact cleaner can fix?
  4. Aw, I didn't know they didn't even get the shape right. What a shame. Also, https://finance.yahoo.com/news/fender-r-introduces-mod-shop-140000866.html
  5. Couldn't find a "switch cleaner" on the radioshack website... Is "contact cleaner" okay? There's something he said is the "worst thing ever" in the video but I couldn't quite catch it, some Brits please help me decode your language :stunned:
  6. I think something is up with my 3-way toggle in the Gibson. I just replaced it a couple of months ago too Basically when I switch pickups, every once in a while there would be no sound, but if I keep switching and I get lucky, sound would come out. This happens with both the bridge & neck. Switch problem?
  7. Probably just different wood pieces? haha, I found the exact opposite with the Elixirs. Took quite a while for me to break them in and make them stay in tune
  8. Speaking of strings, I have the results of "Cider's coated strings battle: Round 1 - Elixirs vs Ernie Ball" The Elixirs are still smooth, whereas the EB have already shown signs of corrosion I like how the EB sound a lot more, but they only last a *weeee* bit longer than normal EB. Now the question is: when do the Elixirs wear out so I can change strings for both guitars at the same time for D'Addario vs Cleartone
  9. Gotcha.Alan (sustainiac guy) told me that the on off switch is a ON/ON DPDT non-shorting switch. I only found a normal black ON/ON DPDT one, not non-shorting though.
  10. Thanks you two Has anyone seen a guitar with black mini-switches. Alan from Sustainiac says he only has chrome switches and that would destroy my whole blackout theme .__.
  11. Typed out the question in a PM for James but I'm not sure if I hit sent so I guess I'll just ask everyone who owns a guitar with the Sustainiac: What are the 2 mini-toggles? They look to me like they're both 2-way toggles - is that correct? The Sustainiac website lists the options as 2 way for ON/OFF and 3 way for NORMAL/ MIX/ HARMONIC, so I'm not sure which's which.
  12. Aww I would've jumped on it if I knew you were selling. Just for the Sustainiac Gotcha!
  13. Oh yeah, I am. My bad Does that one have a matte or glossy finish? I thought so too. Mine has endured some abuse (due to my clumsiness) but the finish is so resilient. The only scratch I can really find is around the jack where I smacked it really hard against my desk that one time
  14. Your black MB1 looks a bit glossy now to me James, is it like that irl?
  15. Gotcha. Thanks So anyone with experience with the MBK-2 - how much sonic difference is there between the uncovered version and the covered one?
