  1. Oh no :'( Is the paint that easily dented? :'( I'm still so tempted with one of these so help me god I hear that the neck profile is pretty different right James/ rust_relic?
  2. Nice! How different is the PF-1 from the MBK-2? I thought Glastonbury's Psycho sounded really different - must've been the pickup. It's the same secret pickup in your sandblasted tele right?
  3. Yeah, the fix is definitely only temporary. I'll set money aside for new parts and try to have it redone soon. So the noise going away when I touch the strings is classic grounding issues too? I'll see what I can have done about the apartment. it's only temp housing and I've called maintenance so many times because of various problems What brand is that? Sounds like a cult
  4. So I did what eh_D suggested: opened up the cavity, made sure that things didn't touch one another and stuff. The hum goes away if I touch the back of the tone pot, but gets louder if I touch the capacitor connecting the volume and tone control? Anyway, after twisting things around for a bit, the tone control works now (yay). There are still *some* ground issues, as the little bit of hum does go away if I touch the strings or metal parts of both guitars (so it's not exclusive to the Cort, at least) I honestly believe there's nothing to be done to the grounding as of now - we know for a fact that there are grounding issues in our apartment (like, if I'm on my laptop and my bf's on his ipad and both devices are plugged in and we touch each other, we would feel a weird current running between us ) I guess this also explain the little bit of noise that goes away when I touch the metal parts/ strings of my guitars?
  5. It's not dead quiet when the volume is turned all the way down - there's still some hum. I don't have another good cable to try, but the other guitar with a P90 isn't as noisy as this when plugged in with the same settings. I'll check the wiring later today. Good idea to touch things around, eh_D. I'll try that first before resorting to rewire - been too busy these past couple months.
  6. Jaicen, I have a quick question regarding electronics: The tone control of the Cort is acting up - adjusting the knob doesn't change the tone anymore. The guitar still outputs sounds, but there's a very loud noise/ hum that doesn't go away when I touch metal parts. I'm guessing that I need to reheat the solder on some parts, but I want to narrow down which to concentrate on. Any ideas?
  7. To be honest i have no idea what the 45 is, which makes this seem like a good idea, because it includes all the flagship phasers to try out.
  8. Have you guys seen this yet? http://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/mxr-m-290-phase-95-mini-pre-order Looks pretty cool. Phase 45/90 and Script all in one tiny pedal
  9. That's not a bad problem to have Is this the Nando's you guys talk about? http://www.nandos.com/ There seems to be one in town
  10. I'm pretty curious to see the MOC shape has changed over the years (it has, hasn't it?)
  11. Ohhh. That looks really sharp. Normally I love the custom machine heads, but I don't think they're that necessary to make the DR-1 look cool. Black S5 machine heads already look great.
  12. Looks like this one? http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/bass/g6128b-thunder-jet-short-scale-bass-tv-jones-pickups-black You should activate HTML5 player for youtube, then disable flash.
  13. I actually really like the AC15 when I tried it out at GC. The Master Volume makes it so manageable. I wish it wasn't such a huge amp though. Why don't more small tube amps have master volumes
  14. Finally got the OK to post this. Here, the screen looks more black in this picture (albeit still not as black as Matt's)
  15. I see. I respect that. Is there a reason for wanting it directly from Fender as opposed to Warmoth like the IRN Strat though? Did you not like the Warmoth stuff? I was looking at Status' website and I saw these. Probably Chris' Glastonbury Globalist guitar right?
  16. Went to the local GC. They don't have the new offset line yet :/ Tried the Strats again, and while I really like the soft-V neck, the ones that had that neck were heavily-lacquered. I much prefer the satin necks Also I saw a Aerodyne Jazz Bass so I had to try it. First time touching a bass, the string spacing threw me off, but that particular bass is so nice. I might save up for it before a Strat now. James, have you looked into The Stratosphere? They pull brand new guitars apart to and sell separate parts, might be cheaper than buying a brand new tele neck from Fender: https://stratosphereparts.com/necks/
  17. I've got a better pic but I'm not sure if I could post it. *suspense* On the other hand, looks like Imperial Vintage just got like $30,000 worth of guitars from Manson. https://www.instagram.com/p/BLSQqr9jfTq/
  18. Thanks James. I'll get the book next time I need something from Amazon. I like the new offset line! Might hit up guitar center this weekend to mess with one. Never played a short scale guitar before though. Seems like they're very reasonably priced - $500 is definitely a sweet spot
  19. Let's just say that I had a role in making those mods happen to that MB2 I wonder what's up at Imperial Vintage. Is MB there
