  1. It's hard to pin it down and maybe it's a bit far-fetched but upon hearing it for the first time the first riff reminded me of CS because they're both light and "funny" riffs, which is unusual for Muse, and the 2nd, heavier riff somehow reminded me of early CS's main riff.
  2. The brass, the guitar reminiscent of Crying Shame, the relatively simple structure, the "Pressure building" bit that reminds me of SMBH...
  3. Don't tell me that you can resist singing these aaaaeeeeeaaaaah because I wouldn't believe you. Edit: I also can't really feel the Abso vide but it totally sounds like a song from BH&R and we know Matt confuses these two eras a lot so maybe that's where his comparison comes from
  4. Loving this. I was already obessed with TDS, this album is gonna be great.
  5. The Dark Side > Thought Contagion ≥ Dig Down > Something Human
  6. I applied to attend and responses will be given on Wednesday but I almost hope they don't play Pressure because I'd like to hear the studio version first to avoid a Cologne-like letdown, even more so since Taratata performances are usually fantastic.
  7. I'm not exactly sure about how I feel about SH yet, but I think it may work well in the context of the album. I'm getting excited and optimistic actually. Also : Thought Contagion Something Human, Dig Down
  8. I was personally very pleasantly surprised by Psycho last November. I've always thought the studio version was too repetitive and a bit bland, but at the shows I couldn't get enough of the riff and the silly singing. It was a highlight on both nights.
  9. Yeah but those are falsetto not full voice if I remember correctly Edit: I overlooked them because they are not challenging so they would be irrelevant to this discussion
  10. I don't mind additions. A live gig and its recorded version will never be the same experience and a dvd will never capture the true liveness of the moment; even unaltered footage of the gigs I went to feel completely different from what I saw. So I'm okay with them using what a polished release can offer to enhance it (assuming the sfx do but that's another debate). I suppose that theoretically this argument could extend to vocal overdubbing but I do mind it so I guess altering the performance itself is problematic, but altering the wrapping isn't to me. The tricky part is not to make it a false promise or advertisement of the gigs, but since it's being released after the tour this isn't really an issue here.
  11. This element of surprise is a huge plus to me. Predictability is a mood killer afaic, makes you think and calculate too much and prevents you from getting into the concert and carried away.
  12. Doesn't it sound like the woahs are just done by Chris and the audience?
