  1. I think most physical pre-orders of music usually come with a digital version as well, does with Muse anyway. As for the surprise, maybe another social media song unlock thing like Isolated System in 2012? Someone should tell this guy to spill the beans or therll b trubble Probably around the right time for the Mercy video to be released but that wouldn't really be a surprise.
  2. I'm predicting 8/10. Seems to be what NME gives pretty much every half-decent album nowadays.
  3. Mercy's track time went up just under a week before the track was released, didn't it? Can't remember how soon it was for Dead Inside. I'm like 80% sure of a stream on Monday as well.
  4. I honestly don't know, it depends on how well Matt understands quantum entanglement really Could be something like the protagonist from The Handler asking the protagonist from Showbiz how it feels to be controlled, prompting him to realise what he's doing, feel guilty and then defect and whatnot? Doubt it, personally. Bands usually only get like 3 songs on Jools, don't they? So I'd guess just Dead Inside, Psycho and Mercy.
  5. Definitely in a lyrical sense. Matt said The Handler is 'quantum entangled' with Showbiz, meaning (I assume) that the two are on the same subject matter but possibly from opposite perspectives, Showbiz being about feeling controlled and The Handler being about being the controller. There was also one review that mentioned a 'middle section which harkens back to Showbiz' but it's unclear whether that's lyrically or musically.
  6. There were a few gigs where the top 5 consisted of only 'rarities', but usually the band would just play CE and leave it at that. There were two gigs to my knowledge where the top 5 was all rarities and they didn't play any of them, Stade de Suisse and T in the Park. Citizen Erased and Bliss were in the top 5 for both nights but they didn't even play them, they just fucked off the poll completely. Basically, it was all just a massive fail and the band were kinda shitty about it. The Psycho Tour is probably as close as we'll get to a 'request the setlist' tour.
  7. k thx man They've been promising a stripped back rock album since BH&R to my knowledge, if you're still surprised that they haven't 100% stuck to that (even though they've actually stuck to it pretty well so far, it would seem) then you've set yourself up for disappointment.
  8. I think you'd have to be extremely unrealistic and naive to think that they'd release a completely heavy rock album at this point. Also, so far the only songs the are poppy are Dead Inside, Mercy and (apparently) Revolt, two of which are stripped-back pop-rock anyway. Maybe Aftermath but that sounds more like it'll be some kind of rock-ballad.
  9. All the songs released so far have pretty much been 3-piece rock though, with Dead Inside and Mercy having some pop sensibilities in there as well. Psycho, DI, Reapers (and most likely The Handler and The Globalist) all have fairly dark subject matters too. I'm not really sure what you were realistically expecting.
  10. Hopefully I'll be able to be a little more level-headed this time. When T2L first came out, I think the fact that it came after TR and it's pretty mediocre tour made me think it was way better than it actually was. I remember saying it was my 2nd favourite album after OOS So far, I think I've been able to rate the Drones tracks pretty accurately though. As things stand, I'm expecting it to be a bit better than TR and maybe on the same level as Showbiz.
