  1. If this is true that is the ultimate eff you to the fans. That would basically be saying to the world, "we admitour sets are bad but because you had to wait we are going to make it up to you guys by playing different and interesting songs."
  2. I have to believe it was sarcasm that it was sound checked. If this was played I would lose my mind. I am flying to Phoenix for the show this weekend. If they play it tonight I will be hugely disappointed if it is not played on Saturday (which it probably won't be because Muse often adds an extra song on the second night when they play 2 nights in a row).
  3. Playing Barclay Center is not the same as playing The Garden which they would have sold out. Being out in Brooklyn, the Barclay center is much harder to get to. People from Westchester County (just north of Manhattan) can take a 35 mintue train and a subway shuttle to the Garden. People from Jersey, Long Island AND Philly can take a train about an hour and literally get off the train in the basement of MSG. Barclays Center is still a trip for those in the city and on Long Island. It is a trek for everyone else.

    Drones stage set up

Is this speculation that this wasn't the full experience or is there a recent quote somewhere?
  5. Tickets for this show appear to be selling really slowly. Are they even offering any seats in the 200 level? Seems like it will be closed off for the show.
  6. Well I knew they wouldn't make it to FL as they sold terribly on the last tour so now I don't know what to do. I can only go to weekend shows which eliminates most options. I can't make the Newark show which would be the easiest one for me. So now I am deciding between Phoenix and LA on the 19th. LA is a little further but it is the 2nd night which often gets a better set so I am leaning that way. Any thoughts?
  7. Does anyone think they will throw in one or two more additional shows after the holidays but before the Detroit show? They end in LA on December 19 and then there are no shows until Detroit on January 14. I would think they would play one, if not both, of Salt Lake and Denver. They could easily do this around the 10th of January by storing the set after LA and then playing these cities prior to going further east. Any thoughts?
  8. There is a 25 day gap between the DC date and the first date in Paris. I am assuming they will do a handful of shows south of DC at this time. Maybe Atlanta, Charlotte, somewhere in FL, TN. This would add 8 more nights which still allows a 2 week gap prior to returning to Europe.
  9. I understand this and this is why I am so disappointed with the song. I feel the lyrics and tone belittle the supposed enormity of what the protagonist went through. He was supposedly brainwashed, performed horrible acts at the request of his handler and escaped. Revolt is supposed to be a battle cry for others to be the same. It should be strong, powerful and uplifting. Instead it sounds weak and completely loses the power of the first half of the album. It's just my opinion but something along the lines of an Apocalypse Please at the beginning calling for others to fight and transitioning to a more uplifting piano tone would have fit better. If they wanted to be theatrical I can't help of thinking of Les Mis, "Do you hear the people sing."
  10. I honestly do not understand this song. The other songs are pretty dark, talk about the protagonist being brainwashed and fighting back. Then this song makes it sound like he is a teenager. It is way too joyous: "how did we get in so much trouble, getting out just seems impossible." This just doesn't seem to fit with the tone of the first half. Muse is at their best with the darker material. It is a shame they feel they have to write these poppy songs to keep up with today's society.
  11. I'm really hoping the encore will change. It is pretty weak. Starting off with Uprising does not seem to work for me (I never liked it as am opener during the previous tour). Hopefully they can switch it up a bit. Maybe The Handler can be the new encore opener once it is officially debuted live.
  12. My biggest complaint with The Resistance onward is the lack of heavy, pounding piano songs (i.e. Space Dementia, AP, Hoodoo...). Unfortunately it seems like this is going to continue and this was the sounds that first really got me into Muse.
  13. After hearing Mercy, I am now beginning to worry about the sets in their upcoming tour in North America (I don't think it is a bad song just think it caters to the masses as does DI so therefore the sets will too). I am very worried about seeing something like this but think it is realistic: 6-7 Drones songs (we already have 4 live so this is definitely reasonable) This leaves about 10 songs as Muse usually keeps their sets short: 1.SS/PIB/NB 2. Hysteria 3. TIRO 4. KOC 5. SMBH 6. Starlight 7. Uprising 8. Resistance/UD 9. Animals/Survival 10. Madness I really hope I am wrong, maybe the festivals will give us a better idea? The sad part is all they need to do is add 3-4 deeper cuts to this and both the causal fan and hardcore fan would be happy. They are at a stage in their career where 20 songs should be the norm as they now have quite a large catalog.
  14. Thanks for the reply. Glad the sound was good, I can't wait for it to be Friday. A lot of times the "curfews" at big arenas aren't true curfews. They are often the time when the people who are working the show begin to start getting paid overtime so the arena often tries to avoid that. Webster is more of a "club" so the restrictions may be very different. We should probably expect Muse around 9:30.
  15. After trolling the internet I figured out that the actual Facebook page of the club event does not list the Grand Ballroom as one of the venues, despite Webster Hall doing so. Looks like they will just use the other venues for those nights.
  16. One other question I have is how can Webster Hall pull off having a Muse concert with an alleged start time of 8 PM and then expect to host some sort of club event in the same venue at 10 PM? Seems pretty impossible. Looks like they are attempting the same thing with Noel Gallagher on Thursday.
  17. Planning on getting to the venue around 6:30-7 PM. Does anyone foresee this being a problem? Clearly I am not worried about being to close, just want to make sure I get in.
  18. AP and TSP would be amazing. The piano intro in AP might be my favorite part of any Muse song, super intense. If I see a piano on stage I am going to be totally expecting it now (hopefully we get it) Or this is all false and we get Showbiz
  19. You may very well be right. I would assume the normal curfew of 11 will be in effect (although this is technically a "club" so maybe there are different rules). I've definitely attended concerts without opening acts, Paul McCartney and Billy Joel come to mind, so it is not unheard of. Regardless, I would love to fast forward to next week, these days are moving too slowly.
