One thing I don't like. I don't like / need those muffled drums alongside the intro riff before the first Break It To Me. They detract from the riff.

Also, as I said in the main ST thread, Blockades sounds like Muse covering Octavarium / Systematic Chaos era Dream Theater, which in turn was when Dream Theater openly spoke of being heavily influenced by Muse. There's massive circularity here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeRg33VDFZE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzovR0s7EbI And this one too:
-
The intro sounds like the music from every science video I watched at school .
-
Update: I actually quite like the verses, there's a fair amount of musicality in there. The chorus is a big old turd though.
-
Okay, I can totally tolerate SH in context. It's a nice little song. I still struggle to understand how they made TC feel so long despite being so relatively short, but again, it's fine in album context.

Let's all stop for a moment and appreciated that banshee wail bomfffs at 1m 26s and 2m 30s. Dreamy shit.

Bog off, peasant.

Shit guys, this is The One. This is the freshest thing Muse have done for decades.
-
The riff is an exact 50/50 blend of Microphone Fiend and Sign Of The Times.
-
I love how Charles keeps trying to get a word in here and there.
-
It's nowhere near as Princy as Break It To Me.
-
I dream of seeing this live, all four band members huddled over their own synths, banging out an extended 15-minute intro with some fucking huge synth beats. NIN-style.
-
It's a worse Revolt. Note: I really like Revolt.
-
It's a totally different song. I don't think it's a very fair comparison. Dead Inside is top 10 Muse for me, but I can see Propaganda getting up there too. Dead Inside is srs, dark, bleak, heartfelt. Propaganda is ridiculous, OTT, brash, and hilarious.

Caved. Initial thoughts based on one listen: Algorithm - the blend of beats, bleeps, strings and piano is beautiful. The strings are some of Muse's finest to date. Not QUITE as epic as I expected, but those huge drum beats at the stand and the 90-100-sec instrumental intro is going to be insane live. 13/10 Propaganda - finally, the pop song Muse have been trying to write for 12 years. This is just about the most brilliantly brash thing they've ever done. It's a masterpiece. It's every bit as ludicrous as I hoped. 17/10. Break It To Me - as above, the kind of pop Muse have been trying to get right for ages. Very RATM the riff, very very VERY Prince the rest of it. Far more so than Propaganda. I totally get the shuffly Linkin Park vibe people were referencing too. 18/10 Get Up And Fight - what even is this? -57/10 Blockades - sounds like Muse covering Octavarium era Dream Theater, who were in turn, at that time, were trying to cover Absolution era Muse. It doesn't really come together as a cohesive track and it doesn't really go anywhere. Blegh. 5/10 The Void - NIN. Strings. Wubbity wub wub wubbage. WRROOOOOOOONNNGGG. 16/10

Anyone who hopes, wishes, or actively encourages other people/fans to leak anything, is a colossal thundercunt. Even more so those who then get arsey/aggressive about people not leaking. Srsly, do one you cretins. Get some self-restraint.
