  1. you could always offset it and forget about the high E. You could cover a high percentage of those notes with the highest frets on the B string and i reckon the lower notes are more beneficial anyway. not idea, but one way of getting around it. or have a slightly elongated route and have it so you could slide the sustainer 5mm towards the treble or bass side if a specific song required the high or low string. or just get a 7 string sustainiac
  2. Yeah I agree. Having 2 identical Ds is pointless and makes fretting some of the chords and octave parts awkward.
  3. Yeah it's obvious to us, but if someone was googling because they wanted there guitar chromed, seeing Sims written here could save them from spending a tonne of cash for a shit result.
  4. I think you should name and shame the company that did it originally. Companies don't deserve protecting when they deliver a lash job.

It would need completely stripping and refinishing. Probably easier to make a new body from scratch. A new neck would be nice but I don't play enough currently to justify spending anymore on guitar related stuff.

Haha yeah restringing isn't fun, although it stops me doing it just for the sake of it. I wish my tele had a finish that wasn't going to look immaculate for 1000000 years and a full maple neck with no face dots...
  7. The whammy 4 has a slight gap in program changes so it'll always have that problem. A bit of reverb might hide it.
  8. Get Phil to put a piece of rosewood in the locking nut route and then fit a standard nut. Shouldn't be much work. I've got a piece of rosewood here that Hooglebug sent me to do that very thing.

I don't think it was part of the limited run. Just a custom shop thing. Can't remember exactly but I think it was a few G
  11. Everyone wants one, no one wants to pay for one, that's my experience. Remember most of these people contact people like me, Kev, Hooglebug, Barnett etc asking if we can build a Manson replica for a couple of hundred quid. If you find the right person then maybe you'll get top dollar so you'll prob have to be lucky or patient.

i saw a montery strat in demark street when i was working in london years ago. i was so close to buying it, but was in the process or building blackie at the time and couldn't really justify it. great looking guitar though.

i started making those holes only just small enough to grab. it's not like they need to take a huge load and like you say, they can be weak as hell if you have to crank them in.
  14. Someone could get Phil to build one to their spec brand new for the same money so your argument folds it's self. I'd buy an MA2 for that money personally. Or James quilt Classic T Manson in fact...
  15. You'd be lucky to make profit on a guitar built by an unknown. Would love to be proven wrong but I'd say you'd be lucky to get half that. James has sold Mansons on here for less, or you could buy a new MA2... What do the E series guitars go for?
  16. sounding great, shame you cant do the hits behind the nut though, it would be perfect otherwise
